All safe and sound. The situation in San Nicolas was physically and emotionally worse than expected. The best part of the trip was Bahia Acuncion. A full report will follow in bits and pieces. Right now, after four days on the road, the photo below is all anyone needs to know about what I did on my trip.

Really sorry San Nicolas was worse than expected---:no:

But we are not surprised you enjoyed Bahia Asuncion---it does have a way of grabbing you.

Glad you are home safe and sound, and it is time for rest.

whew...so happy to hear you are home safely. You became an asuncion legend in a very short time...look forward to your return...perhaps there will appear more earthquake sensors like this one around the village!

The road to San Nicolas isnt all that bad if you take it slow. Give yourself 1 hr if you are pulling a small boat trailer. Its 11 miles from the highway. Take the road on the south side of the lagoon and launch on the beach, there is no boat ramp.

Kenny is right, it was the trailer at fault. With my camper on the truck, though, it took a good deal longer than an hour to do the 11 miles. Well worth the time...I guarantee it!
