For those in, around or passing through Ensenada, Comercial Mexicana, The Pelican Store, has Cerveza Noche Buena on sale for 75 Pesos per 12 Pak.
That's like $5.30 U.S. Looks like an inventory clearing thing till next year.
Don't know if the chain is doing the same thing in other areas but, it's worth looking into.tjBill - 1-23-2009 at 10:24 AM
I will definitely check out my local Comericial Mexican. Diver - 1-23-2009 at 11:01 AM
Dennis,
Is there any left at Comercial Mexicana anymore ?
What was the load capacity of the vehicle that you drove to the store ? Diver - 1-23-2009 at 11:03 AM
Could this be called "hedging" the dollar ? DENNIS - 1-23-2009 at 11:35 AM

Plenty left, Diver. I was there this AM before ten and couldn't buy. Later today.BMG - 1-23-2009 at 11:57 AM
They must have shipped it all north. We tried finding it in La Paz more than 3 weeks ago and everyplace we checked had sold out.BajaNomad - 1-23-2009 at 11:57 AM
Remember to keep the beaches clean please...

Good thought, Woody, although, between my place and yours, I'd probably have them consumed.postholedigger - 1-24-2009 at 12:59 AM
Comercial Mexicana in Ensenada? Where?
Tecate anyone?
beachbum1A - 1-24-2009 at 07:24 AM
And if you're a Tecate fan, they (Comercial Mexicana) also have 12 paks of Tecate in cans for $100.00 pesos!
About $7.10 in dollarsDENNIS - 1-24-2009 at 07:27 AM

Don't lose that thought, Bruce. The convenience store, Villarino's, close to your new place in La Jolla, gets 144 Ps for the same thing.
Vote with your feet.DENNIS - 1-28-2009 at 12:42 PM
BUMP FOR BEER LOVERS
It's still there....most of it anyway. This AM, after 10, I raided the supply with my big truck. 75 Ps and when it's gone, it's gone till next

Sorry, Hook. I didn't see this yesterday. Anyway, I don't know. Are "Mega" stores a chain? Never heard of them.mulegemichael - 1-29-2009 at 08:10 AM
yeah, "Mega"....huge chain outfit bigger than Sorianas...there's one that's just about 3 years old in san jose del cabo...great meat and veggies
there!
Speaking of Beer
MrBillM - 1-29-2009 at 11:14 AM
Doing a search for a "Periodic Table of the Elements", I ran across a website that, in addition to having a wide variety of such available, ALSO
offers a BEERIODIC Table matching each Element with a World beer. Maybe an easy way to remember the elements.

Such an interesting field of study. Did you know that rubidium is slightly radioactive with a half-life of 4.88×1010?
I wish they still had some of the Noche Buena in stock here.Bajahowodd - 1-29-2009 at 03:40 PM
Hook asked the question about the difference between Comercial Mexicano and Mega. Corporate parent operates stores under several names. Comercial
Mexicano, Mega and Bodega all use the Pelican logo. Mega is really just a Comercial Mexicano store on steroids. Company also operates Alpreci, Su Mesa
and City Market. They are the franchise operator of Costco stores in Mexico. More than you wanted to know?EnseNADAslim - 1-29-2009 at 04:45 PM
I found some at the same price at the Oxxo market, the new one that's on the road to La Buf, and yea, got me one,,,,would have got more but only had
enough money for one 12 pack, a soda, and a bag of Tostitos. DENNIS - 1-29-2009 at 04:57 PM

EnseNADAslim...
there must be alot of people just like you
i just witnessed a couple at the gas station purchase the same thing and shared coins...
but no soda
i wondered if that was their dinner
Elemental, my dear Watson ?
MrBillM - 1-30-2009 at 10:44 AM
Seriously, doesn't everybody have reason to reference the Periodic table daily ?
Well, OK, I don't either, but I do have one on the wall in the U.S. and occasionally have reason to look at it. Since it's been there many years, I
was searching for a replacement and an additional one for Baja.
Never know when you might need it given the "weighty" subject matter often discussed over beer on the Baja patios.
I've ordered the "Beeriodic" version for Mex. Somehow, it just seems right.DENNIS - 1-30-2009 at 10:52 AM

Like old times in Mexico. Mexicans would leave a calendar on the wall for fifteen years if they liked the picture. That was when time didn't matter.EnseNADAslim - 1-31-2009 at 01:14 AM
