Do you remember...La Cuesta de la Ley?

This is on the way from El Arco to Punta San Francisco...it still shows on the AAA map. It was "before my time" but if I remember correctly some sort of difficult mountain climb in its day. I have been through there about 20 years ago but don't remember anything unusual at that time. Anybody with more info on this?

God yes, I remember that damn thing back in '83. That was my first big offroad adventure in baja. I still have it in my journal which I flip through wistfully from time to time. After repeated attempts we finally made it over top but knew we would never make it back the other way without a tow.

OK......Permit me a harmless hijacking here, Jim.
Does anyone recall having a cold beer or lunch on the Kon Tiki in Ensenada harbor? The rickety gangway that led to the listing hulk of the floating restaurant, even before the breakwater was built?

Dennis, I remember the Kon Tiki and Ninos on Ruiz and La Copa de Leche.

Anybody got photos?

How did it compare to 3 sisters in Puertecitos?

Hi Jim,

I drove to San Francisquito the first time in 1983, from El Arco over the Cuesta... and it wasn't bad at all... Perhaps already been worked on for the new resort. Again was over it in 2001, and the road was all graded... no problem.

There were more then '3 sisters' south of Puertecitos... but perhaps three of the grades were the toughest... Over them many times (1965-1979) before the new graded road of 1986.

I looked through my books and found one photo of the old Cuesta de la Ley in the 1962 AAA Baja Log...
