well, all you northerners will be happy to know that the weather here went for a big crap the last couple days...after a month of ridiculously
gorgeous hot sunny, flat calm days...neptune has reared his stormy head....it is blowing 20 knots at dawn...seas are really kicking up...the swells
are already passing over the rocks out in front of our place...the poor lobster fishermen are bouncing around taking a beating and according to buoy
weather we are in for some 14" waves later today...Juan can never remember waves this high...highest we've seen is around 11-12' so it should be
gorgeous...the blowhole is really steaming this morning...making quite a racket and there are rain cells all around us.
Reminds me of Tofino weather.
The gray whales seem to enjoy all the excitement though...when I went out to take a picture, there was a mating trio out front having their morning
nookie...
then, as I was watching...I mean observing for scientific reasons...I saw this enormous fish leap out of the water and do the Watusi in the air before

Dang, we are missing the weather again.
We really enjoy that type of weather and since it does not happen too often in BA, we love it when it does.
That swell has got to be beautiful, but I do feel for the lobster guys --- their work is difficult enough without rough seas.

Yes dianne, its one of those spectacularly beautiful days on the wild west coast...gorgeous big clouds, rain squals, with sun shining intermittantly

I checked Death Valley weather yesterday------they had a high of 29 degrees, which seems impossible------strange weather all over for sure. My son
reports good rains in Owens Valley, also.

Shari--------when those big waves slam into the coastal cliffs can you "feel it" in the ground under your home? I remember when I lived on the coast
that we could literally feel the earth shake when the surf was up in Coronado (a rare event), and that was just a beach with no underlying rock
structure that I was aware of. It was very exciting, as I remember--------the shear power of the waves.

I seen a 400+lb Mako come 10-15 feet out of the water sounded like someone dropped a VW in the water when it landed.
Its been trying to snow here in Prescott Valley all day just cant quite seem to do it. We drove up into the snow a little while agoand almost got
stuck had to get a push.
Hope the weather clears up by the 19th-20th we should be there by then

What a spectacular day...lots of squalls, the swell came up but luckily it was low tide...but did not reach the 14' I dont think...super low tide
which got lots of people wet who were picking mussels...this is one wave splashing over the rock at low tide...at high tide, the waves passed right
over it....cool.
and you bet a big swell is loud as it hits the rocks and blowhole and does rattle our windows and shake the house a bit...gotta wear ear plugs.
