I know the Mex Immigration laws are rarely
enforced in No Baja, but has anyone ever picked up a
no charge 7 day fmt at Tijuana/Calexico?
thanks for your time

This is from the Discover Baja website:
"Mexican Immigration advises all tourists who are driving to Mexico to obtain a Tourist Permit or FMT. If you are in a traffic accident anywhere in
Mexico you will be asked for your Tourist Permit. If you are visiting Mexico for seven days or less, the Tourist Permits are free and may be picked up
at a Mexican Immigration Office at the port of entry. There are Mexican Immigration offices at every border crossing. Tijuana Immigration Office and
banjercito should be open 365 days/year and 24 hours/day."

Thanks bajabound, I believe it's Geoff,
due to the 72 hr rule, 7 day rule, or the 'rogue'
claim by San Felipe Mex Imm, that claims
you do not need any fmt's for
7 days or less for visits to SF,
the older I get the more cautious

Geoff is Bajageoff (I think) and has Bajabound Insurance. That's not me!

hello sancho,
I got a 7-day fmt last year in the summer for a short trip to the Ensenada and just south of Ensenada . Got it at the same place at the Tijuana border
where you get the regular FMT. They tried to "upsell" me on the regular one but it was no problem when I said that I just needed the 7-day one.

I also got a free 7 day permit. I was in Mexico for that 8th day and I felt like a desparado!!
