Hi, I would like to say thanks for the tips over the years from former Amigos de Baja and now Baja Nomads about how to deal with solicitations for
bribes. Thanks to you, I knew what to do! Here is my travel story if you want to read it: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/pool-people-rosarito-2308...

Thanks Marla... I read your article yesterday (as someone posted a link to it here)... Very impressed with how you handled 'La Policia'!!
Wow, Sandy is 10 already... I remember her from the Pyramid Resort and Camp Gecko trips of 2002/2003!Woooosh - 2-16-2009 at 09:41 AM
Thanks for checking in- It was a good piece.oxxo - 2-16-2009 at 10:09 AM
Marla, you did us all a favor by refusing to pay. Thanks.BajaGringo - 2-16-2009 at 11:08 AM
That article reminded me of why it is a good reason for Gringos living here to drive with Baja plates and license. The cops have to issue you a ticket
at that point and most don't want to spend the time.BajaGringo - 2-16-2009 at 11:25 AM
I posted this in another thread but it goes right to the point of why you should never pay the mordida...
Will save you lots of cash and probably avoid the ticket all together. Print it out and carry it with you when traveling down here...westy - 2-22-2009 at 11:55 PM
........good reading, Marla.
Long time, no see. Hope all is well.Bajahowodd - 2-23-2009 at 12:18 AM

So Baja is only for the young? Do they take everyone over 75 to some other part of Mexico?Bajahowodd - 2-23-2009 at 11:36 AM
Seniors welcome everywhere, David. My query was directly related to the use of the term "quick business trip".David K - 2-23-2009 at 11:43 AM

So, seniors should only go to Baja if it isn't a quick trip... ? I think Marla said they stayed at a hotel... so it wasn't just a day trip.
Just didn't understand your reasoning or logic Bajahowodd... Thanks.TonyC - 2-23-2009 at 01:52 PM
Holy cow Batman....no talking on cell phone while driving either. Did not know that BajaGringo.
When I had HID headlamps put in my Tundra, I was stopped on three occasions....two for running a stop sign, and one for speeding. I got a warning
everytime, only after alot of talking . Took my HID lamps out and put Sylvania bulbs in.....have not been stopped since. I don't think it was a
cowinkadink.Bajahowodd - 2-23-2009 at 04:49 PM
Leave out quick and trip and all that's left is the word business.
