I have loved campenchana every since the first time I was introduced to it. How do you like it? Hot or cold?
I am looking for a good recipe for campenchana. Anyone able to help.
Any other pictures?
Thanks........DonBajaWarrior - 2-17-2009 at 08:45 PM
I like it cold as a c-cktail. They serve them in San Felipe and they are great.
Wouldn't the hot version be Seven Seas Soup? It's good too on cold days.

Don,
Your photo is exquisite! It brought back fabulous memories of Campechana c-cktels (also known as "Vuelve a la Vida") I have known and loved from
Guaymas to Culiacan to Esquinapa on the Pacific mainland coast.
I suggest you just pay that mariscos vendor the $8 dollars he's asking and enjoy! The hassle you will go through with that octopus and the callo de
hacha and the oysters is just not worth the trouble, not to mention how much it will cost to assemble all those goodies.
It's worth every penny you pay for it.......
Especially that briny seafood broth they slosh into the c-cktel at the end to make it all float. The best!!

I think
Bajadogs is cheating with a photo of a shrimp c-cktail. I don't see all the other goodies in it.
Moyeyo's is just beyond the El Moro Hotel as you head towards Marina Palmira from town.fixtrauma - 2-18-2009 at 11:53 PM
We will be in La Paz April 8-16. Anyone want to meet at Moyeyo's for some Campenchana?

It originated in Campeche.......
Hence, the term campechana (no "n")
But by any other name it is sublime!!fixtrauma - 2-19-2009 at 12:06 PM
