Hi there, I'm new here, only lurking for a while.

I was wondering, I'm working on a report on some Baja Sur real estate issues and how some people work and deal in that field.

I would have 2 questions and wondering if anybody has some answers or pointers:

a) anybody knows the reason why the developer of this Playa de La Paz resort got arrest about 4 weeks ago for about one day. His name is Jeffrie Curtiss and he's praised in many media places yet when look in history of properties he's involved in La Paz - they all have / had some issues that got "miraculous" solved. Looks very fishy to me....

b) is the Dorado Real Estate a "fly by night" issue

On both I tried to investigate, official inquiries are not answered by that people on the first question, court etc. also denies any info ( protecting a local investor ???? )

And at Dorado only rumors but nothing to be put down that is credible to publish.

Any pointers are very welcome and confidential.

Dorado Realty flew the coop..................JESSEE thats really weird when I saw him in the CCC the other day he didn't say anything about it, it was a friendly visit till he started knocking our President then I could have been arrested. :fire:

Can you define "other day" by any chance?? We got told he is overseas the other day.....

In my Humble opinion I think that you are messing in something that you should leave alone.

First I suggest that you go back and read this Board around 4 years or so regarading "Chopy Chavez".

There are "Good People' in La paz and there are "Bad people".

I'm with Skeet.....well, not literally with him....but of a like mind. IF you were to obtains some information here, what are you planning on doing with it? Why are you only requesting information on those two, when there are a LOT of other real estate companies/people here in La Paz. Who are you & beyond "working on a report" what is your intention for distribution of said report?

You gotta understand that you're asking for potential inflammatory/damaging information & most likely NOBODY is going to be feeding you all the grisly details in a public forum. Even via U2U it isn't all that likely to be forthcoming if you're not willing to provide more information about yourself, your goals & the disposition of any information you hope to obtain here.

However, it's not in synchronization with our work objectives. Just keep an eye at the CAN media in about 2 month.

The Punta Banda fiasco serves as a lesson. There is ample evidence that something didn't smell right from the beginning. What probably bothered me most was that too many gringos seemed appalled by the correct verdict by a Mexican judge.

I think that when and if you get to Loreto you will find a different thing going on, There are many more Canadians and Americans involved ,should I say a larger volume.

As to Loreto. I found while I was doing Real Eszxtate there that there was hardley any problems with "Anybody" losing their Property.

The big Scam with Loreto Bay Villages and others of that type was all the promises and Hype about the Future, some which was very good and some not( Such as the availability of Water during a Dry season}.

If you subject your self to a couple of hours with some of those Condo Hypers you should be able{if you went to Hi School} to pick up on their Scam.

I am not saying that they are stealing from people, they are just doing what all Scammers do, talk the person into spending their money!!, using Half-Truths, BS, False Promises that will take Years to accomplish.

If you are going to do a report out of Canada, then after it comes out I strongly,strongly suggest that you do not return to La Paz.

Does the "Dorado Real Estate" referred to mean "Dorado Properties"?

Prometheus didn't come across as a reporter from an English-speaking country. But not wanting to pre-judge too much, maybe s/he was born in another country and is currently working for a production company..........
