A construction Crane in San Felipe???

CortezBlue - 2-22-2009 at 05:00 PM

I bought a Jacuzzi Spa that I need to put on my party deck. I will need a crane to do it. Does anyone have any knowledge of a crane in SF?? I would be very grateful if you have any info.

Cranes are expensive and hard to find.
We used a front-end loader and 6 guys to help get it on and off.
They are not that heavy without the water. ;)

DO check your structure before you put the tub on any deck.
3-5,000 lbs of water and naked folks is more than most decks are designed to hold.

Yes, when I built it I had the structure beefed up. I built a steel post and beam home with steel supports. I should be good, unless you hear about a jacuzzi falling through the garage party deck of a dumb ass gringo, in the news

I immediately envisioned several heavy-duty tow straps securely wrapped around the spa & 6-8 strong guys lifting it up onto the deck manually. After all this is Mexico where strong back abound...but for the same reason, I gotta admit I didn't envision the front-loader. Oh, and NO beer until AFTER it's in place!:tumble::spingrin::tumble:

I had a similar vision, but it was more like a MexiScafeling. 4 amigos, with 4 amigos on their shoulders and so on.
I spoke to a gringo friend of mine and he has a back hoe that he thinks he can raise it up close enough to use plands to move it on the deck.
:o

Contact a tow truck company that tows big rigs. Should get it into the back yard.
