I'm so addicted to all things 'Baja' that I have 1 Baja t-shirt for every day of the week, a couple of Baja-related sweatshirts, and a personalized
license plate bearing the word, 'Baja'.

Baja takes up the most room in my heart. That will never change. And I have my own distinct relationship with her. However, I spend less time in baja
than many on this board.David K - 2-22-2009 at 10:17 PM
Ken, you have been to my home... Mike McMahan Baja wall map above my fireplace... Baja space posters (satprints.com) on the walls, Baja bookcase,
Choral Pepper and Hugo Lopez paintings, Dave Deal posters... and all that is just in my living room!!!
Part of the back of my truck... awhile ago when I took this...

My first trip to Baja was in 1984 to Gonzaga Bay via Catavina and I was immediately a prisoner of Baja. Everything about the trip was life-altering
and amazing. I was hooked! Then in 1987 I discovered Loreto and Tripui RV Park and I had found a place for the rest of my life. Even after the park
burned up in 2004 I knew I had to go back and it was fairly painful financially but I had no choice. My life has been so much richer because of Baja
that is difficult to express in words. Every trip down there and out on the Sea of Cortez is an unbelievable life experience and my main joy in life
is sharing it with my friends. The fun I have watching a first time visitor, is priceless. I know I'm being selfish but I'm glad that many people
are afraid to come to Baja because it would really be a mess with more gringos. Like Ken, I have "Baja" in my personalized plate but that doesn't
begin to describe my attachment. Those of us who are able to spend a lot of time down there are truly blessed and I do my best to try and leave her
better than I found her.vgabndo - 2-23-2009 at 12:48 PM
I get up, I get my coffee, I check my e-mail, then I check BajaNomad. i even respond to threads like this one.TonyC - 2-23-2009 at 01:24 PM
Changed my career from electronic tech., to a refinery operator for the schedule. No longer a 8-5, M-F worker. Now a shift worker 6-6, 28 days 14 on
14 off, with 7 days in a row off out of the 14 days off . Allows me to make a run to Baja Norte every month if I want....and I usually do. If I take 4
days off in conjunction with my 7days, almost two weeks for my addiction. Down for Valentines week with mi esposa, back to fish in San Quintin
presidents day for a week.

You and me.. Time we spend here, BajaNomad. wish'in we were there....
Last year I got in a total of 2 1/2 months in Baja..Mexico.. Baja Sur.
South of the boarder. Working on our dream at Tripui. It is there. It has happened. Just wish we were there NOW. I have got a week and a half to
our 30th and we swore we would be there for it. To enjoy our Baja Mexico, Tripui. A great place to be.
Marty / Shawna24baja - 2-23-2009 at 08:01 PM

When my days here on earth are done I have asked that I be cremated and my ashes scattered here on my favorite Baja beach. I figure that becoming part
of Baja is about as good as I can do.
Hopefully they don't write my loved ones a ticket for littering!

I don't think theres a 12 step program that would work for a Baja addiction.
[Edited on 24-2-2009 by Paulina]BajaNuts - 2-23-2009 at 10:33 PM
yea, that's the thing about a 'program"... you actually have to want to get OUT of that situation.
maybe there's a REVERSE Baja 12-step......... you know, each step gets you one step closer...
(When and where do we meet? I'll be a charter member...)
PS- Hi Paulina, welcome to the new Baja 12-step...

I am a million percent obsessed with MEXICO!!!!! Not, baja really but even tho TJ is an absolute hell hole and some horrible things have happened to
me there, my best friends live there and I miss them horribly and wanna go back to visit them and to evangelize to the downtrodden there even tho it's
scary there. My friends can't come here and I do have some good memories there.
I am so addicted to Mexico that for almost 12 yrs I've wanted to live there and always have liked it there better than the U.S., altho I'll never give
up my U.S. citizenship no matter what. I can't live in Mexico now cuz my youngest daughter is only 13 yrs old. Her dad won't let me take her to
visit there anymore. Grrrrrr! I can't stand him!
I spend tons of time every day on various Mexico forums and look at Mexican real estate every day. I talk about and pray for Mexico (and ask others
to pray too) frequently. I've been fantasizing about eventually living there ever since my first visit in June 1996. Mexico has been my number
constant all consuming obsession ever since.
There is cheap real estate all over Mexico and I expect to live there some day. Merida looks pretty good price-wise but my fave place on the planet is
Oaxaca!!!! I hope my youngest daughter will choose to come with me but doubt if she will. I don't know if I can bear living that far away from her
when she's grown up but I'm not happy living here and wanna live there sooooo bad! Aaaaauuuuggggh!
Sigh...pangamadness - 2-24-2009 at 05:37 AM

Enough to live here full time, except for our summer "vacation". Been here 8 years after 30 years of visits and would not consider going back. The
quality of life here, priceless.24baja - 2-24-2009 at 03:10 PM

I love Baja! Crazy about it or why would I lurk on this forum. I have a lot in San Felipe and will build there someday and use it as a base for
further Baja Explorations. Have my Baja souviners all over the house. Had my Got Baja? and San Felipe bumper stickers on my old rig, but now I've
got a new rig with no stickers (yet)....what did I get....Toyota FJ Cruiser....named it BOB...Baja Or Bust! Can't wait to have more time to spend

I get teased about it all the time. My 50th birthday was Mexican themed. Everytime I meet someone from Mexico, I want to be their new amigo. Typical
comment: What is it with Roger and Mexico? I still remember my first post here when I came back from a trip to Cabo and asked the question: I can't
stop thinking about Baja, What's going on with me? David K's response: You've got Baja Fever! YES! Someone understands me.David K - 3-1-2009 at 08:27 AM
