BAJA COMMUNICATIONS - COMPARISON

rob - 3-1-2009 at 09:25 AM

Had to share this website posted on LaPazGringos forum. IT is a comparison of VOIP phone offerrings and the best I have seen.

Sadly, my satellite service doesn't like any of them.

Rob....The link doesn't work....for me anyway.

Me too, Safari unable to connect. Go to www.tech.spotcoolstuff.com enter magic jack in the search box to find the article. Then go to summary. Their pick is still Vonage.

Rob thanks to the link to the web sight . A good one. I will say this in defense of Magic Jack .It has saved me $70 to $89 per month on roaming charges from my cell phone

I LOVE my Vonage, and wow, great customer service as well. They helped me config. a new router set up and they even called me days later to see it was still working right.
There was not even a hesitation when I mentioned the telnor was my ISP.

Just cut and paste the url he posted. it works, even though it is not clickable.

http://www.teamspeak.com/

free program to talk over internet using a basic headset, both computers have to be on, works best for talking to a few regular people, doesn't work for someone to just dial you up, but it's unlimited free talking with no lag time. Also work for Conference calls, you can have MANY people talking/listening all for free.

Try to evaluate your situation, do you need a phone number that anyone or strangers/aquaitances can call? Or do you only really need to talk to a few business associates/employees or family memebers and it's always the same people you talk to? If it's the latter, check out TeamSpeak.

When I was in La Paz, I could talk to home for HOURS, for FREE!

u2u me if you want more info or help setting it up.

ya can't beat the price!

to make a hot link
[url]link[slash url]
be sure to include the http://

we are very happy with vonage.

I had to write out slash or it turned into a hot link...duh
to nowhere I might add :wow:

I've used all of these VOIP phone systems and some more. MJ is the best if you want to use a phone. For computer to computer I prefer Yahoo Voice. Both MagicJack and Yahoo Voice work reasonably well on a Satellite internet service.

I had to use a “Copy and Paste” to get the link to work.

:tumble:

No problems with my Vonage either! Love it. And the fax line!
