Time Warp

On our last trip south we noticed something right away at most of the beaches we stayed at, and that was the fact that in most cases we felt like little kids. Mainly because most of those camped out we at the age of 60+ years old. Not a big surprise, but I have to tell you that for us celebrating out wedding anniversary this was a huge encouragement to us. I loved the company that we had and hearing of all the adventures many of these Senior couples still have.

The "Time Warp" really came about when we walked into Ana's restaurant over there at Playa Santispac. As we walked in we had just about every head turning to look at us with almost a "what are those kids doing here", which made it even more interesting. It was also PACKED as I guess most of the people there were from a caravan.

There was a guy there that was the groove'n DJ and he was the host of all host as he came up, explained kind of how things go, then we walked over and got me a Beer and Deb a water--super nice guy. Still though we just kind of felt out of place, but yet we so love the environment and watching all of these older couples sit, laugh, and carry on like they did. The room was filled with an energy that would either suck you in or blow you out, but either way it was a very Fun Energy.

Just as the DJ said the music would pump up and everyone started to take to the dance floor and it was funny as they were rocking out to the tunes of my Generation and even though I came from the Disco Duck era I felt more compelled to sit and watch rather that get up and dance, well, plus Debbie is not much of a dancer. Funny this, later that night we sat by the palapa and eventually I stuck up some Stan Getz tunes and we slow danced under the Stars and we said that some day we hope to have that same energy as those Seniors had at Ana's,,,seems funny to think of them as Seniors.

We eventually found out that they had ran out of the Rib Special, so we sadly left and headed into Mulegé and found some good BBQ ribs as well.

So Bravo to all of you Seniors living out your golden years with Baja Adventures, you are an inspiration to me and my wife and we look forward to some day Rock'n out at Ana's as a Senior Citizen as well----You guys Rock!

Hey Slim...there may be snow on the roof, but there is still fire in the furnace!

Just before my 65th. birthday while abusing the hell out of my dirt bike, I inadvertantly saved my own life. I started an internal bleed which got me to an ER which got a CT scan which found the kidney cancer which was pretty easy to cure with such an early diagnosis. I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can get back on.

Sorry to hear of the news, but here ya go, a great example of how to look at life. We'll be praying for a quick healing and a speedy return to the Beaches of Baja----and the dance floor!
