I am looking at this site to purchase tourist cards online, it works out to be more expensive than stopping at the border but we would rather not have
to stop. Here is the link and phone number, I spoke with Rolano Torres who used to work for the Mexico Tourism Department for 25 years, he works
there. Any input?

Don't you still have to stop at the border and get it stamped? If so, then not much of conveince except for the bank part.

Not only will you have to stop and get it stamped, but the official will want to see your passport, no doubt. Since this "service" only asks you to
supply your passport number, there's little true proof of identity. Maybe I'm wrong. But it doesn't add up, especially if you're paying twice the
price. This may be a suitable alternative if one knows they will be entering at a port of entry where the bank won't be open.

Just called them, and talked with Mr. Torres.....yes you have to stop and get it stamped. Also means you will still need to have ID checked, and
verify information on the visa.

So, for the pleasure of paying double, you can avoid spending 3 minutes filling out the card at the desk. I must say, however, that I once really got
delayed at TJ when I pulled in behind two tour busses worth of folks heading South, and there was the usual one agent there.

Funny you said that. Mr. Torres thought I was part of a tour heading down from Oregon.

Thanks eveyone for your help and knowledge, it is appreciated very much. I received an email from Mr. Torres and he did state we would have to stop,
and we realize now...pay double the price for nothing. We will not be using this service. Sorry I jumped the gun in excitement! Have a great day

We usually arrive in SD early enough to relax and ride the trolley to TJ get our tourist card, drugs (not that kind!) and some tequila then head back
to Chula vista and exchange dollars for pesos at costco, then get a good dinner hit tthe sack and cross in the morning, works out pretty good. Hey

Where is the Costco in Chula vista that I can buy pesos? Heading down next week friday.
