This was carved by the teenage son of a friend of ours here in Bahia Asuncion and given to us as a gift. We love him and he has a special new home on
our bookcase.

I saw the headline Captured Turtle and ran to sharpen up my sword for battle. When I opened the thread I gave thanks that I did not need to spill
blood today. Here is a depiction of what could of happened. Very nice carving
by the way.…

The wood is probably about 2 feet long and about 9 inches in diameter---- I will take a shot that shows some size perspective.
I did not have my camera when we were at their house, but I do want to get a picture of David, the young artist, holding it.
But I will never be able to capture his magnificent smile when he gave it to us---
I have seen a couple of other carvings he had done, and he is good. His father is also good with wood. The trophies he made for one of the surf
compititions were great---toy wooden "woody" type cars with surfboads on top.
Sorry for the title---knew it would bring out the swords.
