Carpentry/Wood Furniture

Hi everybody,
I wanted to let you know that my husband is building furniture, cabinets, screen doors, etc. He makes very well made furniture.
He builds economically with pine and also hardwoods like alder and mahagony.
He works hard at it and gets the projects done quickly.
I would love to post pictures but I haven't figured out how to do it in this forum, but if you send me your e-mail I can send you some pictures.
He just finish making a mahagony screen door for our house and its much better quality than the one we had built a year a go by one of the"best" carpenters in Loreto.
So if anyone has need of a good carpenter or furniture builder, let me know.

Very nice work! I'm an amateur carpenter and I know that kind of work takes a lot of time, experience, skill, and a good set of sharp tools, including some expensive power tools (tools are more than 1/2 the trade in this case). Not to mention a good sized shop to work in. Plus, the wood finishes are excellent. If I lived in your area I'd be eager to chat with your husband and tour his workshop (taller). Good luck. I hope you find some customers. Keep advertising in the gringo venues such as this.

I'm wondering if competing with the local carpenters might be a problem if the proper work/business permits aren't in place.

We are located in Loreto. Any help in spreading the word would be appreciated.

Got more on this thought K-rico... very interesting, what do you know.

Met a guy a number of years ago in Cabo. He ran into problems in his marie engine repair business.. and was looking to get out of town big time. Wasn't sure if that was still and issue .. now that we have NAFTA.:?::?:

It's a "no way" corridor for the travelor on the street. When NAFTA was about to be passed, I thought, naievly for sure, that the borders would be more or less opened to common traffic and the restrictions at the gate would be cast aside.
I soon learned that NAFTA had nothing to do with me and my grocerys but, was put in place for businesses to to import and export more items for which they would charge me more than before.

The North American Development Bank (NADB) and its sister institution, the Border Environment Cooperation Commission (BECC), were created under the auspices of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to address environmental issues in the U.S.-Mexico border region. The two institutions initiated operations under the November 1993.
