We have been at the East Cape RV Park for the last two months and dont want to leave. But we have to go. We are storeing our 5th wheel in La Paz and
coming back in Nov. with a trailer full of toys.
We are leaving LB on the mornin of march 30th dropping the trailer off in La Paz and planing to spend the night in Loreto. Next day we plan on
driving to Catavina and then on to San Diego.
I would like to now if this sounds Doable (this has been our first road trip down the Baja) and I would realy appreaciate recommendation for where to
stay (espeacialy in Catavina) we would like to keep the room price under 100 usd.

Yah, if you could get to El Rosario (76 miles beyond Cataviña) where you have two really nice motels (the best in Baja) for under $35...
#1) Baja Cactus (new rooms)... next to Pemex station
#2) Motel Turista (new motel)... as you enter town from the south.
Also, Baja's Best Bed & Breakfast (about $60) across from the Motel Turista. The restaurant there is very good, remodeled.
San Quintin motels are about 30 miles beyond El Rosario... On the right, just across the bridge are two recommended motels Los Cirios and the Villas
de San Quintin

The Desert Inn in Catavina is nice. They remodeled the rooms there about two years ago. It has a decent restaurant, too. About $75. That being said,

Haven't stayed here myself, but friends do. They love to sit poolside after a hard days' drive.

One caution. The Catavina Desert Inn is very popular with the tour companies, and may be booked full on any given night during whale season. Last
year, we did the whale thing at San ignacio. We didn't stay at the Desert Inn in San Ignacio. However, finding ourselves in the middle of town around
1 pm after our whale expereience, and figuring that the remaining daylight would allow us to get to Catavina, but likely not El Rosario, walked into

It's a good thing that doesn't ever happen anywhere else. the place is as well lit as you can imagine. However, I don't know if they have 24 hour

The Desert Inns (ex La Pinta) are comfortable, clean, and allow dogs. Rates are deeply discounted for those who have an FM3 or FM2. One must apply for
the discount card. We stayed at Desert Inn Guerrero Negro last Thursday and the room was $50. We were the only ones in the restaurant for dinner, and
our two dogs are welcomed.

I have mine ,I got it in Ensenada at the La Pinta there years ago. Do you have to apply there or can you get it at any Desert Inn. Is it still free to
apply. I tell people about it all the time . It also gives you 10% discount on food and drinks, It's 40% off the rooms. I think it is a great deal.

Funny story here—and one that is hard to believe. We applied for our discount card at La Pinta (Desert Inn) in Loreto. They told us to come back in a
month and it would be ready. Several weeks later as we were headed north, I dropped by to see if the card had arrived. No luck. So we headed north
without it. We
ended up stopping at La Pinta in Ensenada for a night. The following morning as we were checking out, the man at the desk said to my husband: "Gee,
your name is familiar." We couldn't figure out why, until he opened a drawer, smiled, and handed us our discount card, after which he processed the
bill at a greatly reduced discount. NOW THAT'S SERVICE!
