You want a portrait shot? You will have to crop to get one!
OK, I am getting irritated so I will lick my lips.
And off I go
OK, I will stop one more time for you, but I won't look at you!

VERY VERY NICE!!!Osprey - 3-11-2009 at 04:30 PM
Great shots. My cheap camera wouldn't be able to get those. Gotta get a new one. The coyote is one of my personal heros. When times are tough they can
live on grass. Their species strength, in my view, is not so much that they can, but that they do. After baby skunks and lizards and tasty ground
squirrels, grass would be hard to swallow -- wouldn't want my pals (peers, co-coyotes, coyotees, etc.) watching me do it either.DianaT - 3-11-2009 at 04:41 PM
Thanks!
I love coyotes for their survival skills---desert, mountains, cities----they are so adaptable.
I also think they have special spirits

I love the coytoes too. I'd go out and listen to them tonight but it's 15 degrees out. Always love your pics.Barry A. - 3-11-2009 at 09:31 PM
Fabulous pics Diane-----------we will be listening to the "packs" in 4 days in Anza-Borrego-------they ALWAYS put on great displays for us, both
visual and audio.
They are truly enchanting and mystical creatures.

Once again great shots. Thanks DianeIflyfish - 3-11-2009 at 11:20 PM
We have a pack of about a dozen of them in our back yard. Their focus is amazing. They are like a very tightly wound watch, incredibly skittish here.
Diane got a photo of four pups chasing each other's tails. They are fun to watch. I can see why the Native Americans called him the Trickster and a
Shape Shifter. Their stare is the epitome of focus.
Thanks,

Thanks for the nice comments---and yes, they really are baja nomads. I am glad others enjoyed these pix and also really like coyotes.
For anyone interested a little in Coyote as trickster, and or the search for spirituality, I highly recommend the three books written by Webster
Kitchell, --the first one being God's Dog: Conversations with Coyote
I forget the name of the two that followed---but they are really fun books with some really good messages and questions. The author was the
minister at the Unitarian Church in Santa Fe when he wrote these--a really nice person and a great speaker.
