If the whales aren't gone by then, maybe the noise and rumble will get them on the move! :o

Hard to believe the enviros don't have a fit... and I see they are using the main road between the lagoon and town... Is there a tour bus class?

Thanks for the link and post... The Baja Californians sure love off road racing!

DK, despite your your sarcastic comment that dismisses environmental protection efforts, and your general disdain for the environment and people who care about the environment, the land does appear to be inconsistent with the conservation easement for Ejido Luis Echeverria and other local local efforts to protect the environment at the lagoon, and it may be interesting to hear from locals about how the land use fits or doesn't fit with the extensive environmental protection efforts accomplished at the lagoon.

???

This is a public forum... I get taken to task many times, but I don't let the sour pusses get to me.

I meant no disrespect to you, and I even thanked you for sharing... so why the negativity?

I think it is hilarious that the Mexicans can run an off road race along the shores of the whale lagoon, while some whales may still be there... and nobody in the enviromental movement says a thing (if they even know about it)!

If this was in the USA, it would never happen, and you know it. Nothing odd about that is there?

The outdoors (enviroment) mmeans more to me than you know... I just happen to believe the earth is FAR greater than us humans and a few busy bodies in some meeting room in San Francisco should not try and keep ANYONE from enjoying PUBLIC land!

Peace!

Looks like 18-19 of April/ Originally they scheduled during Semana Santa and the realized no on would show up.

Used the Highway for Tortugas (hauling three atv's) so didn't go in to Asuncion. Maybe next time. Carnaval was great. Stayed with the Patron family who out did themselves taking care of us for 5 days. Race was great although very tough (half the cars and trucks could not finish). Son Kevin has moved up in the ATV class but still doing well for running on a shoe string (dad's pension).

Headed east, El Arco, San Getrudis, San Rafael etc for Seman Santa. and then San Ignacio.
Maybe see you after that
