It's been yrs., like back when they were free,
that I've bothered to get an fmt for San Felipe.
I remember the Immigration Office was just
to the left, 100' or so, as you enter Mex at
the old crossing downtown Mexicalli.
Is it still there? and is there parking nearby?
I remember parking blks away in Mexicalli
and walking back. I know the SF site says
no fmt's required for 7 days or less,
personally I don't think they have the
authority to make there own
requirements, that is strictly to encourage
tourism It's my understanding fmt's
are no longer issued at the San Felipe
Imm Office
thanks for your time

It was reported here on Nomads just a few months ago that FMT's are no longer being issued at the old Mexicali crossing
However I know for fact they are being issued at the East Mexicali crossing, and it is on your right just as you enter " Declaration", (far right
lane) plenty of secure parking up ahead on left and right.

It should also be noted that lacking FMT after 72 hours is a violation. You don't have a week. My take on this is yes. you can visit San Felipe
without FMT as long as you return to the border within 72 hours. That works for a weekend trip. After 72 hours, your auto insurance may well be
invalid. They do issue 7 day FMTs at no cost. But I don't know the particulars at Calexico (actually Mexicali). Haven't crossed there in a couple of
years.
