These photos say they are from the morning of March 15th. I was driving back home from Mulege and seeing the old cobblestone trail winding up the
mountain, thought I would take in that great view again. Had not been up there since our Lover's Leap parties.
Hmmm, 15th?...What was that day?..oh yeah, Monday, the day of our poker game. Good thing we can all remember the days of the week
by our activities, right?
.
Buckle up, it gets hairy climbing this trail.
.
.
The highway into Mulege lays far below..we're going where eagles soar.
.
..and a fishhawk lurks and stalks...
.
For those of you looking for an accessible, but less crowded beach camp try this one.
.
Use caution though, the pesty blood-sucking chubacabres are migrating and will use your dash for a brief rest and a chance at your throat.
.
A memorial to a loved one at the top.
.
..and another to a celebration of love.
.
.
Far off Punta Chivato above the Mulege Pt. light and a great day to be out fishing!
.
When flying a glider, we're like these experts..grab an updraft and ...the world is ours.
.
Directly across is Pt. Conception light...the sentinel for Conception Bay points the way to a great anchorage for cruisers & gunkholers...
.
Domingo Cove..and a great place to drop the hook and follow your mood. Muy private. You can also drive over there..a long arduos trek, but worth every bump.
.
Way down below and to the south is Villas de Mulege..and the bayside home of nomad Laurieboats. Which is for sale! What a view they
have..breathtaking.
.
Time to head back down the cobblestones to the highway. There's the road south towards the Bay and home.
.
A few miles south on the highway and all travelers will recall this Welcome to the Bay scene. Lucky me, I get to see it almost every day.
.
If you are looking for camping spots in Conception Bay..there is lots of room...
Santispac.
.
Santispac lagoon and cove.
.
Cocos Beach.
.
Playa Escondido...still nice and tranquillo
.
The Bay...Always a great place to kayak.
.
Burros beach palapas and pangas.
.
.
Back to mi casa in the Bay.
.
.
..to find a small bear (Oso) burglaring my firepit!!

Thanks---we have not been south of Santa Rosalia for a couple of years and these photos remind me of why we need to head south again for a few days.
Both are nice picture shows.
BTW---to keep track of what day it is, we anymore have to use a calendar and mark it off each day or we are apt to not have a clue.

I go up to the microwave site almost every trip, never gotten tired of those views. I have motorcycle camped up there just before the top when the
weather was warm at the beach. Always a breeze there at night and no bugs. Used to pack around the point to Playa Escondida before the road went in.
I've always thought it the nicest winter camping beach since it is so sheltered from the north wind. The spot where Killer parked his "Bluebird of
Happiness" was perfect. No wind and the sun reflecting off the rock wall in the afternoon. I thought it a much nicer place than the palapa he bought
from Max over on Santispac.
I have to dig through old photos. I know I have some of Playa Cocos from around 79 when the large palapa was there. Seems to me a Chubasco took it
out the next year.
My son and daughter still tell me that the year they and I spent in Mulege (74-75) and the time exploring all those beaches are their favorite
childhood memories.
