On our way home from whale watching we stayed in San Quintin and in the morning continued north and stopped for breakfast in San Vicente at
Valentina's, one of my favorite places. I had my back to the door and was concentrating on my huevos con machaca when Kathy nervously drew my
attention to her Explorer parked in front. A local policeman had blocked our exit while his lightbar flashed and he was walking around our vehicle
while talking on his radio. Three of the guys from the restaurant went out to talk to him while I continued with my breakfast figuring that I had no
influence over what might or might not happen. After a little discussion the fellows came back inside and the cop pulled away. We weren't told what
was happening but just that there was "no problema" but obviously someone in a Burgundy Explorer had been quite bad. I'm proud to say that while this

I can't imagine having to watch the vehicle at Valentina's. The family there has been in San Vicente forever and I don't think anything goes on in
front of that restaurant that they wouldn't observe. Besides, its Kathy's Explorer and she was watching! BTW, this is one of my favorite breakfast
stops, always good food and nice people. Seems to be a gathering spot for some of the local ranchers and business folk. Always a very friendly

I never sit with my back to the door no matter where I am, ya never know who's comming in to get one of the other diners, and if I can watch my car
all the better. I parked my truck and camper on the side of Carnitas Miochican in Rosarita Beach so I could see the chairs hung on the ladder on the
back of the camper. I sat inside so I would see the truck. We went out after eating, all of our stuff was ok. Another diner that sat facing me with
his back to the parking came out and walked around my truck, he looked at us and said did you see the truck that was here next to you? I said no there
it was empty when we arrived. He kept walking back and looking at the empty spot, as if his truck would suddenly re-appear, he couldn't believe it was
gone. That restruant has been there since the early 60's, I know, I always ate there. Watch your stuff. I would recommend eating at CM great carnitas,
if I don't have time for a stop I'll buy a kilo to go, it keeps well and with eggs for breafast or tortillas as tacos, it can't be beat.

The only time my back is to the door is if it is a painting on the wall. Too many times people have bad things happen because they did not see the
danger coming or see the theft take their stuff. I agree 805gregg if it can happen given and giving a theft an oppurtunty to bump and grab they will.
I do not care where you have been before thevies steal at any oppurtunity especailly if they are watching you and see you have not been paying
attention, however I should say the will give a good laugh and speed rish on down the street. Late----------------bajafun777
