I sat on a boat in sept. for 2 days looking at the surf at Bahia Santa Maria.. Punta San Lazaro? I was about 1 mile inside but through the binos it
looked like a good set up, with offshore winds every day, any one surfed there? There is a " surf camp" there in tents. Looked like a fun wave.Tomas Tierra - 3-25-2009 at 08:06 AM
Seen it to, from the same vantage point..I guess it's a pretty good spot..I did surf the little rivermouth at the bottom of the bay that trip..it was
smallish but firing....Can't get out there by car(?)...But they have a surf camp there??is nothing sacred??SBSRF - 3-25-2009 at 08:42 AM
Mag Bay is a world class break, there are actually 3 breaks on a good south swell. I've anchored up, surfed, fished and dove the area 5 time, always
phenominal.
Here is a picture of the breakers at Punta Hughes, just inside Bahia Santa Maria. The camp run by Mag Bay Tours is just to the right, and Cabo San
Lazaro outside the mouth of the bay on the Pacific. I think that the MBT camp is open for a month or two around November.

When I was there, there was a guy doing deliverys from San Carlos, he was living near the end of the beach before the river mouth.A gringo by his
looks. They had a boat on the pacific side too. If remember right the surf camp is a little expensive for a tent.
