I took these photos on March 16th of some strange circle formations on the Sea of Cortez side about 30 minutes south of Puertecitos. The photos were
taken looking down at a dry lake bed near the ocean. Perfectly symmetrical circles with half circles above them.
Any ideas?

Can anyone explain how there can be crop circles in sand? I'd call them sand circles.TheColoradoDude - 3-29-2009 at 04:41 PM

I have some mysterious ones in my back yard, but on further examination I believe now they are caused by my dog when he circles around to take a
crap.baitcast - 3-29-2009 at 05:59 PM

Thanks for the circles. I really like those tracks in Utah though, east of Wendover, where they go straight out from the elevated highway and end in
a rectangular hole broken through the salt cruns and down into the mud below. Sometimes they are Truck sized and sometimes have drag (tow) marks
coming back to the road. Drove that for decades and always saw new tracks.PabloS - 3-30-2009 at 07:44 AM

That is a dry-ish salt flat, not a beach... gets flooded by sea water on the highest lunar tides, only.
So, would that be 'salt circles'? GeoRock - 3-30-2009 at 04:12 PM
I saw those in April of 2008, the same place and same circles. I am surprised they are still there!LOSARIPES - 4-1-2009 at 05:01 AM
