Nice shot!.
Dark granite, Tajo? Jide, did you get to Canon Guadalupe?
Dez Rat says he might try Picachio del Diablo next season. Stay in the loop!
The Secret Knowledge of Water is a book by Craig Childs about nomads who appreciate finding water after a jaunt in the desert. Great read!

Good guess Don Jorge,
Congrats on your geologist skills!
This is a picture of the first pool you encounter going upstream canyon Tajo. We found a dead bighorn sheep there, that was in april 98.
Have you been there?

Thanks for the book recommendation, D.J.
I didn't make it to guadalupe canyon, I had a last minute change of plan that weekend.
Instead I went to the eastern sierras exploring by mountain bike the cool geologic formations of Bishop volcanic tableland.
But Guadalupe canyon is still on my list and I'll take 3-4 days to explore the full length of it this fall, anybody interested?

Don Jorge,
Thanks for the information on the book--just ordered it from Abebooks (on-line) for only $3.95.
