BajaNomad

Worst Nomad of the Year!!

Skeet/Loreto - 4-4-2009 at 09:56 AM

I accept!

Packoderm - 4-4-2009 at 10:01 AM

No, it's not you Skeet. This dubious distinction should go to a particular individual who never misses an opportunity to say something ugly - especially on the Off Topic. We all know who this is.

Phil S - 4-4-2009 at 10:06 AM

I agree with Packoderm. Your precious, SKeet. Write some books about your adventures. I'll be one that stands in line to buy it. I always look forward to your comments, and religious comments. Sorry I didn't get to know you when you were in Loreto. Then missed a couple chances when you returned to Loreto to visit.
And YES, we KNOW who "this is"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May you have many many more years of exciting adventures in your 'future' years ahead.

ELINVESTIG8R - 4-4-2009 at 10:07 AM

It's not you Skeeter...So Mote It Be!

Could it BE ?

MrBillM - 4-4-2009 at 10:10 AM

NAH. I'm one of the Nice Guys who believes in the Golden Rule.

Never Attack, Harm, Maim or Kill anyone who doesn't deserve it.

Since your quality is known by the quality of those who oppose you and mine are (for the most part) a bunch of Sewer-Dwelling ADDHD Dolts, it MUST be someone else they have in mind.

Those who disagree with me and don't fit the above are simply WRONG.

AND, I'll second the assessment of Skeet. Even in his pre-Alzheimer days he couldn't have qualified for WORST.

Skeet/Loreto - 4-4-2009 at 10:44 AM

Thanks for all who disagree with Me!!

I will do my best not to talk about the Good Lord and all of his Goodness!
Do not want to offend those "Poor Babies" who are Secular! Must make their poor little Hearts Break!

Bajahowodd - 4-4-2009 at 11:14 AM

Skeet- You might be interested in what's going on in Turkey these days. Although the country is 95%+ Muslim, the constitution dating back to just after WWI, with the establishment of the Turkish Republic, banned virtually any public display of religion. That included the banning of headscarves for women and fez for men in any public building, including schools and universities. The current party in power, AKP, has been working to "liberalize" such laws, allowing for people to wear religious dress in public. In effect, it would move Turkey closer to the American model that allows free exercise of religion in a secular state. I bring this up because Obama is going to speak before the Turkish Parliament on Monday, and there is speculation that he may mention this issue.

Now, just because there are people who jump you when you bring up religion, doen'st mean that you don't have every right to do so.

Sharksbaja - 4-4-2009 at 11:58 AM

:rolleyes:So true, but this ain't the forum for that...... unless of course you mention anythang Baja.

Skeet, not to worry, we all get branded fer something. You hardly qualify as the "worse" Nomad.

Naughty Nomad maybe.

DianaT - 4-4-2009 at 12:52 PM

Gees, here goes that list thing again---

Surely everyone would have different candidates for both the best and the worst list and in different order and with possible overlap---

Could get very complicated, and not very pretty.

I ought to get some sort of honorary mention for run on, complex sentences, verbosity, a Liberal Education and reverence for the Buddha. I don’t want Skeet and Bill to run away with all the recognition. I also rarely mention my love of fish tacos, sandy beaches, Pacifico (Nada Mas), yellow tail, Lobsters, Lion Paw Scallops, Baja buddies, etc. I could go on and usually do, but got to scoot. Did I mention my humility?? Probably.

lizard lips - 4-4-2009 at 01:16 PM

OK, Who is it Skeet and Pacoderm? Name some names. I don't read all the posts so I really don't have a clue.

This should be brought out in the open!

Osprey - 4-4-2009 at 01:19 PM

Flyguy, we need you desparately! We need your mind, your words of wisdom, your broad world views. You help unbubbify some of us, make us better, make us reach a little higher. You remind us things like "a life unexamined..." you challenge us and most of the time in the framework of how we see Baja and how we see our selves in it. You are mirrorman in a world we can easily get lost in. You're on the top of my lists -- all of them.

Skeet/Loreto - 4-4-2009 at 01:27 PM

Hey! Would you beleive it!

A good{?} bunch of Posts.

A Lizard Lips, if you do not know who we are by this time, you have missed some very lively action and Threads.

When we come down to it, we need all of us, the better to accept Baja and our Amigos that share a great place and People. God Bless us All!

Natalie Ann - 4-4-2009 at 01:44 PM

My dear friend Skeet -

You are and always have been one of my favorites Nomads.
When I've asked you for advice about places we might not want to miss on our first small plane adventure in Baja - you were there for me. You told me where to go swimming with the (non-caged) dolphins. You were a good friend of my close friend Tucker, now crossed over.

Know this, Skeet.... when I'm ready for my next nekkid motorcycle adventure, you're the Nomad I'll be calling to accompany me on the other bike - honest.;D:lol::dudette:

Flyguy, I see nothing in Pay Pal?????

Skeet..of course you're the 'worst' Nomad...

Pompano - 4-4-2009 at 02:29 PM

...because you choose to fight the good fight! Hell, you would have made a great Templar knight in the Crusades!

Whenever I read your posts about life in Loreto or Texas, I am reminded of a line penned by a favorite poet of mine, Raymond Inmon.

"If you are seeking creative ideas, go out walking. Angels whisper to a man when he goes for a walk."

Somehow, just somehow...;D.... I think you are the nomad who would be the most..shall we say receptive to angels? ...especially these days.

Hey, enjoy the award, you've earned it!

Skeet/Loreto - 4-4-2009 at 02:37 PM

Thanks for all the {Good Stuff}.

Life is Great! Even at 78 years Young when you have Friends who say nice things about you.

Pomp, you had better be on the look out for two Nekid Motorcycle riders on their way to San Nicholas.

I agree, if you have to interact with a liberal, it is wonderful when you find someone with the intelligence to pull it off like the Flyfisherman. Most of the time you just get a screaming rant and rave when you say something negative about global warming or some other trashy idea, but here we actually get some thinking and a mind in the same package.

Bajahowodd - 4-4-2009 at 04:31 PM

Is this really Bajaconservativenomad.com? Sorry guys. Off-topic is a great place to debate politics. But the rest of the board, shouldn't be falling to prey with politics.

Either that, or we could quote a whole lot of posts by cons made on Baja Nomad that seem anything but civilized or reasonable. They're making an assertion that could easily be torn to pieces. Oldlady is one of the very few who is walking the line they seem to be drawing in the sand. She is the equivalent of FFP when it comes to wisdom and reason.

Skeet/Loreto - 4-4-2009 at 05:12 PM

Very well spoken Pack!

There is no Politics involved! We are having a good time, relax and enjoy it, if not go to the Off-Topic and slam away at Mr. Billm.

Yes, litte octopus

Sharksbaja - 4-4-2009 at 05:46 PM

A "grande pulpito" award also goes to Skeet. Shall I make a poster?;D

[Edited on 4-5-2009 by Sharksbaja]

Skeet/Loreto - 4-4-2009 at 05:55 PM

Go far It!!

Make sure it is Pt. Pulpito Airstrip!

Skeet

Iflyfish - 4-4-2009 at 07:42 PM

Ok, ok, in the name of civility, good will, largesse, humility, respect for one's elders, I begrudgingly agree, Skeet it is then. THE WORST PERSON IN THE WORLD! (with credit to Keith Oberman, and apologies to Bill O'Reilly who often usurps the legitimate title from Rush Limbaugh).

Are you sure it isn't Pomposity Airstrip? Sorry, couldn't help myself, well, almost couldn't help myself. "I shot the sherrif, but I could not shoot his deputy (Mr. Bill) down" etc.

Oddboy, you should really learn how to read, I was only commenting on the flys comment about liberal education and you want to do a political spin.
How odd it gets.

That wasn't a generalized political slam? Wouldn't it be better in off topic?
