This was just announced on ch. 72 this morning. Last night, Tue. 4/7/09 at around 11:30 pm a very lucky Punta Chivato resident heard a boat and spot
lighted their boat to see some one inside it and attempting to steal it. The light was enough to make the thieves leave. Last seen heading towards

Not so sure about this. Druggies may think this, but I have talked to some gringos in Mulege who have been boarded by marines. They were courteous,
asked for registrations, IDs and fishing licenses. One guy didn't have a boat name painted on it. The marines told him to put a name on the boat, then
they would recognize him and not stop him again.
On the other hand, big Mexican trawlers (even one in the Bahia Conception), Seiners, and gill netters seem to be ignored. In thinking about this, I
think that illegal fishing is not a concern of the marines. Looking for drugs is! My logic is: they will board any boat that is is not immediately
recognized as local, until they ascertain that it is local. Remember, the marines are stationed here and they get to know who is local and who isn't,
and what they are up to. I believe that drug runner's boats are not from local waters.

ncampion, yes it was on the anchor and his house looks right at it.
toneart, As good a theory as any. The last few weeks I haven't seen a seiner or shrimper here and the patrol boat did something to the panga gill
netter to send him home. No one here believes the patrol will be a regular thing but we're hoping.
