No, you cannot. SENTRI is only good for SENTRI.
From the CBP site:
On June 1, 2009, the U.S. government will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI. The proposed rules require most U.S.
citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or other travel document approved by the
Department of Homeland Security.
U.S. citizens can also apply for a U.S. Passport Card, which facilitates entry and expedites document processing at U.S. land and sea ports-of-entry
when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. The card may not be used to travel by air. Otherwise, it carries the rights and
privileges of the U.S. passport book and is adjudicated to the exact same standards.
And from the document issued to us with our SENTRI passes:
The SENTRI Port Pass is NOT a Visa, Passport, Permanent Resident Card, nor an Identification Card. Do NOT preseent the SENTRI Port Pass anywhere but

To whom do you have to prove citizenship in Ensenada? You won't be here long enough to require an FMT. One week in the free zone is allowed without
papers.

Why not try and get a passport?
It's good to have one and they are processing passport applications in less than 2 weeks. You have plenty of time. That way, when you get the
opportunity for a spur-of-the-moment trip to other places in Baja, you'll be all set!

To the best of my knowledge when I got my SENTRI you had to have a passport first in order to get a SENTRI pass.
But, I was told that I could use my sentri, which has my passport number on it, as a passport for land and cruise ship, but not for air. It is funny
that the hologram that is on the sentri card has a car, ship and plane on it??

I have a Sentri card and use it lieu of a passport especially when I walk across or I am towing the quads. The rules changed for Senti and they are
valid for land and sea entry in to the US,. except air travel. See below:
June 1, 2009: ALL persons*, including U.S. citizens and Canadian citizens over the age of 15, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central
and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), will be required to present a valid passport or other document such
as passport cards, NEXUS or SENTRI cards, or driver's licenses that meet certain security requirements. Children 15 years of age and younger are
exempt from the passport requirement, although they will be required to have copies of their birth certificate. (The copy does not have to be
certified, xerox copies are ok, but certified is always better.) Teens between the ages of 16-18 who are part of an adult-supervised school,
religious, cultural, or athletic group, are also exempt from the passport requirement if traveling by land or sea.

Serg- I'm guessing you're going on one of those 3-4 days cruises out of LA or Long Beach. Dennis is correct that it would not appear that you need to
show any proof in Ensenada, inasmuch as you'll only be there a few hours. However, if I was you, I get something in writing from the cruise line as to
what their requirements are. The lines have to deal with complex migration issues around the world. It just may be that you don't need any proof on
such a journey. But, if you don't comply with the ships requirements, you could get left behind at the dock in LA.

I'm not sure what the rules are but I use my Sentri card while towing through the regular border line. However I did use my passport on the cuise I
did in January.

You are correct, however I need to point out of couple of things
1 The answer I posted was in reference to a cruise in July.
2. Sentri cards have been accepted for entry in the US for nearly a year now. In fact I crossed last Tueday towing a trailer in the non sentri lane.

I have been using my SENTRI card as a second form of ID for crossing at Otay non-SENTRI lane for 2 years now....when we have been driving a rental
car......no problems
