What are the things we must/should do and see in Los Barilles?
Will be staying at Palmas for a week and have two days of fishing booked and plan to go to Cabo Pulmo for a day to snorkel or dive.
Are there any car rental companies in town that are prefered over others? I will need a car for 1-2 days.
I know this is late notice but the Nomads have always been helpfull to the extreme.

I believe the only place to get a rental car is at Palmas. There are a couple of RV rental places in town if you don't need to leave the area. Two
days of fishing and one day of diving is already a lot to do in one week but you might consider an ATV ride up some of the canyons. There is water up
some of them, the rental place can direct you and give you a map. There is also great snorkeling everywhere, great place up by Punta Pescadero and
it's accessable from the road.

The good thing about Los Barriles is that you can go fishing... the bad thing about Los Barriles is that you can go fishing.... Not much to do... 1
hour and you will have seen everyplace to spend money... 30 minutes and you will have had time to see all the places to eat.... then....... kick back
and enjoy doing nothing.... or take your rental car and visit Miraflores, Santiago, San Antonio, Triufuno(all great "mexican pueblos") ... the trip to
Cabo Pulmo is great..if the wind is not blowing otherwise the water is turbid and you can't see all the sealife that is there.... after visiting for
the past 12 years I have found that to sit on the beach and watch the world go by is as good as it gets(interupted by occassional tug on my fishing

The towns of San Bartolo, Santiago, Miraflores are well worth a visit. The hot springs and waterfalls west of Santiago are popular places to see, as

Rent a quad from Amigo's & drive up the Buenos Aires riverbed to the end. there is a side canyon to the south where you can swim under the

Barry...I tried to find this on Google earth. Is it the rio north of Los Barriles at Rancho Buenos Aires. That is one long rio and Google earth will

Fishing reports on Mexfish have been positive lately but we all know how that goes.

If you want to go out on a panga to fish... please pray for low winds! It can get very windy in that area at any given time. Lots of wind equals no
fish!

Otra Vez is open under new management, same folks (Italian) that ran the fancy Italian resturant at Palmas. They have live music most nights.
Al G, I was up the aroyo a few days ago, there is a new zip line operation installing lines and platforms. There was some water running and you could

We will be fishing on the 28' cruisers. Was at Punta Colorad last November with a small group of guys, had plenty of wind and the fishing was not
great but the cruiser is definetly the way to go.
The wife is along this time which is why we are at Palmas. If the wife is not happy then... well you know the rest. She is a trooper but likes the
good things as well.

At Galeria Los Angeles there is an open studio going on for at least the month of April and maybe into mid May. The studio is open on Wednesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays from 10 am until 4 pm. Anyway, You could spend a couple of hours on a really fun art project, paper mache, painting, drawing,
embossing, book making, nichos, jewlery making, collage, etc. All are welcome, young and old, experienced or not. Cost runs $100 pesos an hour and

Even if you don't want to work on an art project be sure to visit Galeria Los Angeles. Sara has wonderful art, pottery and textiles from the
