Here a few pics that came out. Operator error ruined a lot of the more than 250 pics I snapped.
The start 2 Sportsmen & 2 Rangers fully loaded to camp for 4 nights
Stopped to give two kids a ride. Ended up about ten kids.
The drainages had water and some inviting clear pools.

It was really windy & cold the first two days and we rented a house instead of trying to setup a camp. Nomad "Merlin" has some houses he manages
the rentals on. More about that a little later. Here's the surfer in our group on a cold windy wave
Our last day there the weather changed and we rode the beach south of town in comfort all 24 miles of it. To much seaweed from the storm to surf fish.

That was another group from Pt. Chivato I think. 6 quads that went to Scorpion Bay and stayed 2 uncomfortable nights at the accommodations there on
the point a day ahead of us. We went out the Hogar road then over the top from the Ice House road. Didn't visit Mulege this time.

Russ, great photo-tour of that route and one that few people ever see. Too bad about all the dang wind, but like the old saying, Nature bats last.
If it's any consulaton, it's been wild whitecaps in Conception Bay every afternoon, too.
Your trek gets me revved to pack the CJ-8 with camping equipment and make some fishing jaunts over there. Next season for sure...so many trails, so
little time.

that sure looks like a fantastic trip Russ....how long did it take to get there from Chivato? Too bad you didnt go this week as it's been gorgeous on
the pacific side...light wind, hot and calm whereas easter week was real windy.

Makes us think of the Oregon coast with those heavy coats and wind. Likewise for the clam, makes it look fast. Some day we will get to make the trek,

We left at 9am and arrived in San Juanico at 3pm.We logged 103 miles to the gas stop with a couple of detours so the direct run would be closer to 85
miles. Here's a shot of another big pond we visited: The pic isn't very clear because I forgot to reset the camera mode after using the telephoto lens
on manual. All the rest of the day they came out really dark but was able to lighten then enough to see some detail.
