Lots of bichin & moanin about Cabo airport and fees and costs in general at Cab o San Lucas.
Here now, cleared in Guaymas last week, just paid my fees at Cabo Airport. ardly any difference from last Jan or 2006. Also very comparable to
Loreto, LaPaz and other places I like to visit.
If you know where to go in Cabo, you can be very comparable to LaPaz or Loreto or???
I had two b eers and a Pizza too much for one, bill was 7.oousd. If you want a basic room similar to most in Loreto or La Paz, 49.0o0 at Mar d
cortez.
Anyhoo, I'm happy and the people in Mexico (Mexicans and gringos are the greatest.

Hey Reeljob, I have been reading all the irate posts on the BBP Board also. I cant remember if it was just airport of entry charges that were the
problem?
Why don't you post again after you depart Cabo airport and let us know if you get a reamjob on the way out.
Reeljob - 4-26-2009 at 08:50 PM
I've already paid for the trip so what I posted will be it. I'll have to argue in Guaymas over the pax tax cause they will try and charge again, but
usually no problem

Other than appearing to be soaked in alcohol, this thread doesn't appear to amke any sense.

"amke any sense"??!!
Who's drinkin?
Reeljob - just read your post on BBP and commented. thx for the good info.
MMGM always hits me with pax dep tax PP if i am filing back to USA from there. Did MMSL think you were going to USA or did you go to MMGM to clear out
and fuel?
thx for bringing plane travel info here too. we have a few pilots here.

When flying into Mexico from the US there are many charges upon arrival. When already checked in with fees paid, flying within Mexico doesn't require
all the immigration, customs, forms and fees. When departing Mexico to the US the airport you are leaving from has the opportunity for more charges.
All these fees seem to change depending on who is there and whatever mood they are in.
Cabo San Lucas Airport a relatively new airport of entry (not to be confused with San Jose del Cabo airport) has raised fees to $1000 (some have
reported) to land there for a few days. Pilots are going to stop using the airport and it's a shame since they were excited to have a new airport of
entry close to the cape.
Reeljob posted that he didn't have the exorbitant fees charged and Capt Mike is asking if he used the airport as an exit airport or just for an
internal flight.
Some translation below:
MMGM (Guaymas Airport)
MMSL (Cabo san Lucas Airport)
BBP (Baja Bush Pilot)
pax dep tax PP (passenger departure tax per person)
Reeljob - 4-28-2009 at 07:38 AM
Mike: I left the receipt at home, but it included the pax tax out (2 pax paid not pilot), parking, FBO fee of 200 np. And, I went to GYM to fuel and
check out to OLS.
Don't ya just love to confuse those with less or no knowledge with code........
capt. mike - 4-28-2009 at 05:01 PM
well not intentionally.....but the forum section does say private AC travel afterall, so if they don't get it....who's to blame? not us. i try to add
explanations when i think about it.
i feel sorry for those who have to drive all day long to places we can get to in short hours. it ain't cheap but what is time saved worth?
thx for the pirep on the fees.
**** PIREP***** pilot report.
