I think I have swine flu!

fishbuck - 4-28-2009 at 01:00 AM

I went to Ensenada last week end. To renew my FM3.
I had a little time to kill. I had a few beers. At a"club". I met some ladies. We liked each other. We were "close".
So I'm feeling a few symptoms. I think I'll go to the doc in the morning for Tamaflu or the other one.
My "girlfriend" was a local girl. Very nice. As wholesome as they come.
But maybe some of the other girls were from Mexico City? And maybe they flew on a plane to Mexicali and a bus to Ensenada.
Maybe!
I think I'm in trouble!

Maybe what you have, is the Al Capone flu.

Sharksbaja - 4-28-2009 at 01:37 AM

Yep, get it checked out! Might as well get a booster shot while you're there.

It is commom for swine to get the flu.
It is rarely fatal for the pigs.
You should be OK !:lol::lol:

Nothing that some penicillin, garlic tea and hourly doses of tequila couldn't clear up in a week!

fdt - 4-28-2009 at 08:27 AM

Okay, went to the doc this morning. False alarm. He thinks it's just a regular old viris.
It's worse than a cold but not as bad as a full blown flu.
They had those little masks at the docs office so I put one on so I wouldn't get anyone else sick. I doubt if they help much.
Now I'm at work so I'll probably get everyone sick here.
It wouldn't be so bad except I've been fighting a sinus infection I got when I smashed my nose riding my motocross bike. I just finished 10 days of Cipro and now will start 10 more.
But no swine flu,ha ha!

I'm no doctor, but twenty days of Cipro sounds like overkill. Did this doc actually culture what you had, or was he going with the flow? And taking such a high power anti-biotic can actually make you more susceptible to viruses and yeast infections.

I had a CT scan on my sinus about the beginning of April. I tried Z-pac (twice) and Augmentum so far. Z-pac made it better but it comes back. Augmentum turned my insides to liquid so I couldn't tolerate it.
Cipro seems to help but still hasn't killed the sinus infection. I went to an ENT also. This type of infection is very stubborn because of where it is. Might actually need surgury but I hope not.
Frustrating and maybe why I caught this little virus too.
But no swine flu:bounce:

No not this time. But I did see a few. It's not the bump on the throat that you need to worry about.

ELINVESTIG8R - 4-28-2009 at 04:06 PM

I don't have Swine Flu, I am just a Swine like Fish!

Bajahowodd - 4-28-2009 at 04:07 PM

Yet:P

Really sounds like a serious thing. But, like I mentioned, long term use of super anti-biotics can really screw up your system. If you haven't done so, maybe a second opinion is in order.

On a different tack, a few years ago, I was bitten on the hand by my girlfriend's cat. Next day, I had a red line ascending up my arm. Went to an urgent care place. They gave me a shot. Eight hours later, the line was up to my shoulder and I had a temp of 102. Went to emergency at UCI. They gave me a shot of Doxicyclin. An hour later my temp was 99. They admitted me and some whiz kid doc decided to put me on an IV of one of the newer wonder drugs. Next day, my temp was 102. Stood up for myself. Got them to give me more Doxi, which is like at least 40 years old. In eight hours I was released. Just saying that sometimes the newer drugs aren't the answer. Big Pharma encourages the doc to use the stuff that's still under patent. I'm a walking example of using the old mainstays. Hope you resolve it, man.
