Cut these from my garden yesterday. They are very nice this year.

Looks like it might have been a wet walk. Hope you didn't get your camera wet!Skipjack Joe - 5-5-2009 at 03:11 PM
Came home with wet socks on and immediately took a hot bath.

BobH - What beautiful iris you raise. The purple and yellow together are very regal. What do you feed 'em? (looking for hints to make my iris look
like yours)
Igor - Your walk in the rain was well worth it, having returned with such a fine image of the yellow lupine - what a thick bush that was! The little
pop of color from the california poppies is cool... and I just love the sparkle of rain drops on the leaves. Well done, amigo!

Skipjack--thanks for the cool pic of the Shore Lupines--one of my favorite California natives...I lived over the hill in Burlinghame for a few months
years ago and I loved heading over to the coast and seeing all the cool plants.Skipjack Joe - 5-6-2009 at 04:16 PM
Shore Lupines - is that what they're called?
I always considered them to be the 'plain jane' sister of the more glorious valley lupines and paid them no heed. But this weekend I hit them in their
prime I guess. Their beauty just dominated their surroundings (Big Basin).
My quest that day was actually forget-me-nots, which are everywhere right now. But after crawling around on all fours in the underbrush trying to get
a composition I just packed it in and gave up on those rascals. They're just not that easy.
Speaking of irises, to get back on track, there were lots in the state park.Natalie Ann - 5-6-2009 at 05:59 PM

I give all my plants an all purpose fertilizer from Vigoro.
16-16-16 about three or four times a year I sprinkle it around the plants. 'Para Usos Multiples'
