Asuncion Slide Show

Ken Bondy - 5-7-2009 at 06:05 PM

I haven't visited Shari's Asuncion website for awhile, but I was just there and watched the slideshow on the home page. It was terrific, if you haven't seen it I would urge you to take a look:

Gee thanks for that brother! Coming from you, this is a real compliment...I always laugh when visitors tell me how great a photographer my brother is. It is a pleasure sharing our beautiful area with you all...enjoy.
there is another slide show on the Fishing page too...just a bunch of Nomads with silly grins holding big fish.

Great slideshow. Thanks!

boe4fun - 5-8-2009 at 10:13 AM

Great pics Shari! Can't wait to get back to your pueblo with my esposa!

Skipjack Joe - 5-8-2009 at 11:20 AM

Thank you so much for pointing this out, Ken. Your brother is a very good photorgrapher, Shari. I enjoyed this so much. All the spots I love were there: the gas station where I bought water and the market where we got the cold clamato. Even the sand trap over the road I drive around was there. Your brother really caught the spirit and essence of bahia asuncion.

TheColoradoDude - 5-8-2009 at 11:51 AM

Wow! Excellent shots! You must work for the Baja board of Tourism, and if you don't, you should!

kudos to Tio Miguel

shari - 5-8-2009 at 01:11 PM

No no...I did take the photos...what i meant was that nomads comment on Ken being a good photographer and everyone thinks he's my brother as we share the same last name...hey...maybe he is!
I am glad you like my pictures...love it that they capture the asuncion essence!

Bajaboy - 5-8-2009 at 01:27 PM

Kudos Ken...great pictures:biggrin:

Ken Bondy - 5-8-2009 at 02:14 PM

Full Disclosure: Just to clarify, although we share the same last name, to the best of my knowledge Shari and I are not related. I think I am about 35 years older than she, so it is unlikely that we would be siblings. It's possible I might be her fa.....no, let's not go there :). Also, I have never been to Bahia Asuncion (I hope to change that sometime) and I did NOT take any of the beautiful pictures on her website. ++Ken++

shari - 5-8-2009 at 07:29 PM

I dunno Ken....my mom got around! and I think we're pretty close to the same age...but thanks for the lovely compliment! and we do share a love for photography and marine critters.

Iflyfish - 5-8-2009 at 08:44 PM

Your slideshow really does capture the place. Great shots! We miss Asuncion and our wonderful friends there.

Ah sr.flyfishwhennotstuffinglobsterinmymouth.....one of my vey favorite photos that capatures the place is you about to put that lobster tail into your mouth and the smile I saw afterward....well....worth a million lobsters. We dearly miss you my learned friends.

Debra - 5-9-2009 at 04:23 AM

Thanks Ken..........as always you eye is on target for get photos!

Now..........Shari, ask Ken to delete that link, otherwise, when I come to barge into your "Eden" it will be over run with tourists.

Okay......serious question, Glen (Whistler) has invited me to come visit many times (haven't made it yet) is the road well traveled enough that and old lady with children will (in case of a breakdown) have help come by in time to save them from starvation and dehydration? :D

shari - 5-9-2009 at 07:40 AM

no sweat debra....when i was a single muchacha with daughter, I travelled these lonely roads and whenever i broke down or got a flat...some lovely people always helped us out....ya might have to wait awhile but there is more traffic on the roads these days...bring beer!
We always ask our visitors to call us from Vizcaino so if they dont show up in a reasonable amount of time, we go on a rescue mission with cold beverages.

Udo - 5-9-2009 at 09:11 AM

Shari,
Thanks to Ken's post I went to the link and really enjoyed the photos!
Both the accomodations as well as the fishing photos are fabulous.
Around Thanksgiving we plan on coming down for at least a week depending on my finances, and probably plan on booking your cliff-front chalet on the 26th & 27th and 28th. But are not sure at this time. We`are still working on bookings for the Fiesta de le Vendemia in August...and that will be an expensive one.

squintingringo - 5-9-2009 at 11:13 AM

capt. mike - 5-9-2009 at 02:58 PM

great slides. what a fun town, can't wait to see it. thx for the airport shots.

Mulegena - 5-9-2009 at 02:59 PM

Hi, Debra

Like me, I believe Shari is a Negro Modelo girl...
at least in the winter months.

In the summer, maybe XX...
but that's my taste.

Let's hear from the Lady Herself.
Shari, what's your beverage of choice?
Does it have anything to do with wildcrafted pitahaya?

...Enquiring Minds and all that jazz. ;D

Udo - 5-9-2009 at 03:06 PM

Shari's drink of choice: The mojito

shari - 5-9-2009 at 04:54 PM

being the gracious....uhhh....person I am...I will drink pretty much anythong...I mean...anything you put in front of me!
I do love dark....beer...mojitos, paralysers, dirty mothers, G&T, Cuba, pithaya margarita....well...you get the picture!

Debra - 5-9-2009 at 07:04 PM

Okay, I get it sixer of dark for you. and a case of Pacifico for me and anyone that happens to wander down your fantastic beach.............

Or maybe...........AH heck, I don't even really drink beer, I bring the whole case of dark! Does that beach have a spot for a couple of tents for a day or two?

shari - 5-9-2009 at 08:02 PM

there's always room at the inn amiga! We have a real cool little spot to put your tent!
