More reports of theft. This time CSL @El Arco

estebanis - 5-8-2009 at 03:32 PM

Talked to my long time friend this morning and he reports his dad just arrived to his place at El Arco Trailer Park to find a break in. The bent the bars on a window (I assume Rebar) and got in. Theives took food, clothes and a VHF Boat Radio.
A neighbor nearby who is a full timer had gone on a weeks trip. only to return to his place cleaned out and both vehicles gone!
When I live in Cabo the El Arco Trailer park was a very clean and nice. I hear it is showing its age...

Theives in CSL? NO Really.

Sorry about the loss. But, "showing its age" means nothing. It's all about security. Folk who rent there are obviously paying for some semblance of security. That being said, I'd be more worried if the crime rate was really spiking in Los Cabos.

I was at my sisters beach house in Connecticut when they openend it for the season. Someone had broken a back window and entered during the winter. All they did was smoke cigarettes and watch TV. Nothing was stolen or damaged. This has nothing to do with Baja- but some people really only need temporary shelter without the need to vandalize or steal while they are there.

rpleger, Cantinflas, let's see if I understand your posts. You are taking pleasure in, making fun of, somebody's loss of property?

Wanna explain that amigos are you 2 just a couple of discontented fools who wait for bad news and rub it in? What do we post when you become the victims, compadres?

The light side for everybody but the victims, lush life.

Flamers

Flamers are just a part of the weblife. They are on every web board I have been on. I often find a great deal of humor in their comments but don't pay a whole lot of attention. With the Nomad board as well as others, over time you learn who to listen to. There are some really great folks on bajanomad.

I feel very bad for the guy that had his place cleaned out. My friends dad was lucky they only took what the could inconspicuosly carry. I had a long conversation with my Pal at work who grew up near Guadalajara and now has built a home there after 35 years working in the U.S. he is planning on spending lots of time there when he retires soon.
We pretty much agreed that there is risk especialy with the current economic conditons. But the with both of us "Under the either" of the Mexico Life. We will have to accept that risk. I'll just stick to my Early American Garage Sale decor to lessen the risk...

I am sorry, but not suprised, to hear of another break-in in El Arco. We have owned a home there for several years and have had one break-in where I lost all my tools and fishing tackle. This year we installed a monitored alarm system with decals all over the premise warning of the system. The Ejido is improving the park with the hopes of attracting another restaurant and maybe another "strip-mall". Part of the increase in crime here in Cabo can be attributed to the large numbers of workers who came from the mainland and other places to work the burgeoning building industry. With the economic downturn and abandonment of several large construction projects we have literally hundreds of men out of work. You can see these men every morning at local stop lights seeking day labor.

Call the police, I think not. One witness to our burglary swears that the investigating officers may have helped themselves to some of our items which were missing.
