Returning from a snorkeling outing to Dead Dog Island, we ran through a huge bait boil with birds hovering everywhere. Stopping the engine and
observing the action, we were witness to a mass feeding frenzy of Roosters appearing to be in the 10- 20 pound range. Combs were surfacing everywhere.
As I started the engine to follow the fast moving boil and frantic activity....poof....everything stopped on a dime. Birds left the area as well. Very

I love seeing those Roosterfish! Awhile back (like 30 years ago), we caught a 35 pounder off Coyote Bay. More recently all I have seen are the small

Two years ago, I was catching small roosters in Concepcion Bay on blue, small broken back rebels in 5-12 feet of water in April and May. Some have
survived and grown. But the netters are out there virtually every night in the darkness...an occasional light signaling their presence. Bahia

I actually caught and released a little one at San Francisquito. It was an El Nino year (I think 1982) and water was warm. Lots of big dorado and
