We are considering buying an electric household fridge (preferably stainlesss). We are familiar with the big name stores (City Club, CCC, Sams, etc)
but don't want to miss looking into other large-appliance vendors. Any in particular you might point us to? I did a search but did not come up with
much.

If you happen to be passing through Ensenada, there's a terrific scratch-and-dent store in the Los Globos segundas. It's called "El Primo," and they
feature all types of appliances. We recently bought a new stainless steel refrigerator (KitchenAid) for around $925; it ordinarily retails for close
to $2900. There were just a few scratches on the door.

Thanks for the store names in La Paz, Kate. We will check them all out. Bajamigo, you lucky dog to get a stainless KA for that price! I'd sure like
to get a deal like yours, but we won't be that far north.
Thanks again,

. .. and don't forget Sam's Club, City Club and Costco (Cabo) . .

I have found that Ferry, CCC, City Club, Plom y Banos are the lowest prices in La Paz for appliances. Look for big sales. There are also some
specialty designer kitchen appliance stores that will have more stainless products that will pay full fair or more.
Coppel, Wal Mart were not reasonable. I am under the impression that Cabo would have more options... such as Homedepot or ccc. But I have little
experience there and delivery might increase costs and likely damage the product.
As an aside you will be fine many many second hand stores with used fridges repaired and cheap-used fridges start at $1800 pesos, they'll have
stainless too.
There is something to be said about buying locally as it makes buying, delivery and service easier. So sometimes its worth it to pay more
locally-saves time.
Consider also that Baja has more dust and dirt and you might not like the endless fingerprints and dirty look of stainless whereas white works well
for a much lower price.

Thanks for all of that gnukid!
And I could not agree with you more that buying locally is worth paying more for. If we cannot get what we want in La Paz we will likely just keep
our present stainless propane fridge that has been working OK for more than four years. Now that we have pretty consistent town power, we were just
considering upgrading.

Check El Ferry... I bought a large Maytag fridge there about 1 year ago for about 60% the regular price. They have some great sales sometimes...

we are VERY sorry we choose the aluminum style fridge...
the fingerprints and dirt is a DAILY chore to clean...
if we did it again...
we'd go back to a color and the (not smooth) metal
AND...
add an ice maker in the door!!!

There is a new scratch and dent appliance store located behind City Club in La Paz.
