So she wasn't angry that I totally flaked on flying there this weekend.
The new plan is she will fly here June 1st. That was my original plan anyway. I need a girl that will come here.
So if I buy her an airline ticket what can go wrong?

Well burro, for someone who doesn't giveacrap you seem to be sticking your nose in for no reason.
Many people here on Nomad have experience with other spanish
speaking countries. Maybe they have useful information to share with me.
Also, whatever lady I finally decide on will eventually join me at my waterfront home in San Quintin as well as joining me on other baja adventures.
So I hope that is baja enough for you. And if not...

am not clear on where 'here' is you are flying her, but seems safer (for you) than your flying to Venezuela. now let's hope she has friends, family, or Nomads telling her she's nuts and how dangerous that is.
I have low expectations for true love, but it could be a fun weekend.

Fishbuck, best of luck to you and I hope this is for real... The odds are sooo much better now that she can fly here! To have a visa to visit the US, is impressive.

As for the non-Baja stuff... I believe that if it has to do with a Baja Nomad and Doug sees that there is some interest, it can't hurt. Some of here have become friends and sharing is caring, as they say!

As for the commie poster that Ken just posted, well... that is stretching it in my opinion... Unless Ken is in love with Hugo Chavez, that is! :lol:

If there is a photo of me, it is only to give an impression of my state of bliss being in Baja, since you all already know what I look like. I have no need to hide behind a keyboard and post insults... and never show my face.

Really would be nice if everyone could use Nomad as a tool to increase the number of friends in their lives. I have no desire to make enemies with anyone here unless they are trying to hurt me, my family or my friends. :light:

Okay the trip fell through today. She had a minor accident and is under a doctors care and must rest. It's as good of story as any. Might even be true.
Fortunately, I made a mistake on her name when I bought the original ticket. She sent me an email stating so. So I called the ticket company and found out that I could cancel the ticket within 24 hours and rebook it with the correct info which I did. Full refund if canceled within 24 hours.
So then I canceled it everyday and rebooked it. Just incase something went wrong I could still cancel and not get stuck with the ticket.
I am so happy I did that.
Anyway, she still wants to visit and this gives us a little more time to plan another trip.
And if she stays long enough I take her on a trip to Baja.
There Bajaboy, you happy now:cool:

Fishbuck -- I've been told too many stories from the chicas in South America that I stopped believing them. I have become "Lie-Proof" as a result. This sounds like your chica is stalling you. When I was visiting in February, I met a French-speaking Canadian from Quebec named Benoit (pronounced: Ben-waaa). He was divorced, 53-ish, stiff as a board, and had a nice-looking Barranquilllera named Monica on his arm. He was sending her about $500/month, and she had no intentions of leaving her hometown, nor marrying Benoit. He was heartsick, having flown to Barranquilla 4x w/in 1 year to try and scoop her up and drag her into the frigid north (where he described most women as "Frigid" go figure), and he admitted to me (when she went upstairs to grab some things), that he didn't know how to stop sending her money. I told him, "Tell her its the economy" and run and don't look back. He thought it over, but he was suckered by her good (um, GREAT) looks. This is no way to go, but it happens so frequently that its sad to see. It happened twice to me, and no more.

Personally, I won't let a Nomad go through the pain I experienced if I can help it. That's why I'm so adamant about helping Fishbuck. I know the game, because it was played on me. :!:

Fishbuck please do not give any woman any money for anything. No Plane ticket, nothing. Not a dime. It is a SCAM SCAM SCAM. It's like that throughout that region. I was never been scammed but have talked to girls over in Medellin Colombia who have scammed American men for money. I owned a porn site business over there and I know what I'm talking about. I am know known as Porno Dude in here now and could give a crap. You are in for a world of trouble dealing with women from over there. Do not do it. Date women here in the USA or Mexico but not over there. Take the advice of Ken, he knows the deal too.

My advice if you HAVE to have a Colombian woman:
Gotta know Spanish,
Gotta just be there and not rely on meeting someone via Internet (scam-central),
Gotta be open to starting a family, because Colombian women are family-oriented,
Gotta have time to spend there in town getting to know her and her family, because (once again) Colombian women are family-oriented.

Benoits problem was that he had no self-respect, and very little to provide 23 yr. old Monica. I gave him my advice, but it was painful. He was completely in love with Monica, but the way Leidys and I saw it, he was compensating her for her time.

Tonight on the phone, Leidys reminded me that women are the same the world over - just like men are the same the world over. She says, "Men lie to get what they want, just like women lie for what they want."

We're glad that we met each other - by chance, and I'm happy to be returning to see her soon.

Fishbuck, go where the women are like social volunteer clubs or organizations, social service fund raiser groups, volunteer at DIF foster care shelters as many single women volunteer or work there, church organizations are definately where the females are, and if you are just looking for fast times and fun fun sex then utilize the chatrooms, latina friend finder websites, cantinas, weddings not like the movies get invited but lots of oppurtunties there, etc. Don't run in circles trying to force someone to link or pick-up with you unless your paying for it like the guy Ken was talking about. Ya, Bajafun777, no doubt. I certainly haven't found my girl in the last 28 years I've been living hear in SoCal doing it my way.
My thing is that I need to live my life the way I want to. All those places sound fine. But just not my style.
My goal of looking in Baja and mainly Tijuana is that the girls are already where I intend to be. I mean I've already bought the land for a house.
So I'm looking for a beach girl to match my beachboy lifestyle.
I live in Newport Beach and work in Long Beach. And have for the past 20 or so years.
That's why I loved Jovanka my girl from Playas so much. But she was already to much of a citygirl and not enough beachgirl. She figured that out first and broke up with me. She enjoyed me for a while 1st though. :)

But Sofi is all beachbunny. Just exactly what the ole Fishbuck is looking for! ;)

What's wrong with you guys? There are millions of great women here in so cal and you guys are spending a small fortune to date women in some small town half way across the world.
I find it odd to visit places like latin america or thailand and see so many middle age gringos and europeans hunting for subservient women.
ya know, if you are a normally adjustedf male and look at home for a gringa, you can probably find a sugar momma who earns big bucks -- you do the house cleaning and provide for her needs and she will bring home the bacon and provide the $$ to fund your life of leisure :lol:

No worries, then. I enjoy speaking Spanish and joking about Coastal culture, and whatever we do, it has to make us happy. I'm glad you have someone to fulfill you culturally, and I likewise for myself.
