I recently spent some time hiking and soaking in the hot water baths at San Carlos

Some how or another I am not doing things right. I sized all photos 15" or less and they remained bunched up with out the titles!! Well, at least the photos came through

Rancho San Carlos is about 16 miles SE of Ensenada. You turn off at the Baja Country Club and go east. Great place to relax.

Hi Bacquito,
Place some space between the image links... I use a double space between the links when I put up multiple photos from photobucket onto Nomad... I use single space below the image to seperate it from any caption... You can go back with edit and fix!

I don't, on Photobucket... It only stores the photo (resized to 15" screen) for posting on Nomad.

Below (or above) the photo link you paste on Nomad, you type the caption you want or anything... your trip report, laced with photos, etc.

For example...

Here is the sea lion near Punta Lobos photo (below):



I double space the distance from the photobucket link to THIS text and the text above.

The photobucket link is the bottom one of this group that pops up when you put your mouse over your photobucket photo...

Double space between photo links and text to make it look seperate and neat... if you wish!

Is the hotsprings pool very hot? Is it continually flowing in? Can you camp? Is it clean? Are there bathrooms? What's the cost?

Hi, guys my friend went there two weeks ago, and the prices went up 10 pesos, now is 60 pesos to get in for the day per person, and 90 pesos to camp the night per person.

Is that water on the road all year? Even in summer? You mentioned cars. Just don't want to get stuck in a sedan. Only saw trucks in your photos. What's the clearance?

UPDATE. saturday 0ct-01 2011, i did a day trip to San Carlos with a friend of mine.Me on my 04 RAM my friend on his 08 TUNDRA..Rancho San carlos is 11 miles from MEX 1, via BAJA CLUB..the cost is $60 pesos for the day and $90 pesos for camping per person..A new road was cut on the south side of the arroyo, this rd eliminates 8 water crossings, before you had to cross the same arroyo about 15 to 16 times,this saturday I counted 8 water crossings,small cars where able to make this trip, just drive slow,but high clearence cars are best..

Expend a rellaxing day, and after i head it to Punta Banda to look for some nomads friends.and on the way back i was going to stop in La India Bonita(now close) and say hi to Lupita (the owner)..

After arriving to Punta banda I notice my tail gate was open and I had lost in the rd from San carlos my brand new cooler with all the drinks and food, man I was @#$%%^%^..off.

Found Kat's and Vince house, chat for a while and off to La India Bonita..I found her chated for a while, she wa telling me she has plans to re-open the restaurant in the near future..by the time i left Ensenada It was to late to make it to my friends house in La Mesa for a birthday dinner..head it to Otay and no wait in the Ready Lane...thats all friends i just wanted to share my day with you...

I contacted you last year after you posted photos of the rancho. With your directions, we made it there last October, while spending some time in Ensenada. Just went for the day, but in the middle of the week, it was lovely, very peaceful, even though there were a number of people there as well.

The different temperature pools catered to my partner's and my differing needs around "hot" water. I don't like the hot, hot, but it was terrific.

Afterward, I really enjoyed wandering around in the bushes, looking for interesting and/or new plants to photograph and study. The 4-5 water crossings were shallow and fun, with cool plants to see as well.

Didn't had a chance to go back last Spring when we were again in Ensenada for a prolonged stay, but it's on our schedule for an upcoming trip.

ecomujeres, I did the update (BAJACAT), but I was using Bacquito's last post..
and you are right if you go in the middle of the weeks you don't get to share the place with locals, most of the people that I talk to on Saturday where from Ensenada..

It's a very popular spot I have seen all kind of cars up there clearence is not too much of a problen it's a nice spot. for a day trip or camping.:cool::cool:

We drove out too the Rancho last year after te rains it was unbelivable the damage it did to that river bed some of the older camping spots were completely washed out.

What JP said, the road was grade it on the south side of the arroyo,the main rd to the hot springs went right the middle of the arroyo, the heavy rains whipe out the old rd out, therefore the necesity of cutting a new road, and its well sign..After you make the turn in MX 1 you drive for 2 miles and then you male a left turn along a rd with the power lines, then you hit the arroyo it self and make a right along side of The Baja country golf course,the rd has been recently been grade it so is smoth and fast, but fast driving its not encourage, there is alot blind spot's on the way, and also some local traffic and you can loss your gear like I did..
