I have always been a radio junkie and I am considering investing in a short wave radio to mess with. Does anyone have one and if so, what do you
listen to?
Also, are there any really good resources that you would recommend online for what to listen to and what type of radio to buy?
Let me know

I, too, am a radio junkie. I love the randomness of contacts acquired by casting a net, much like the internet. I don't like the predictability and
personal aspect of cell phones. Maybe it's the personal accountability of them, I dont know. Just too much like a lease. Havent carried one since I
dropped my last one in the drink off the flybridge about 4 years ago. I figure I made it for 50 years with a land line, why not another 30 years where
I have all the time in the world on my hands?
Concentrate on getting a good antenna setup, rather than a good radio. There are many good radios out there, it would be hard to buy a bad one. Well,
just dont buy an Alinco............
How much space do you have? Are you just going to listen in or transmit?
Here is what I am going to put up on my property when I am done. That's why I ask about space.

I'll probably get either a Yaesu 857D or an Icom 706MKIIG so I can move it to the boat when necessary.
I cant speak to the SW environment in SF.
