We've bought a house in LaPaz and are in the process of making modifications to the casa and also making decisions about what to buy and what to
bring.
We'll be down in Mid-July and are interested in a weekly rental or a B&B that has:
clean sheets,
a decent bed,
air conditioning,
and is in the city of LaPaz since that is where we'll be living.

I know you said on a weekly basis, but how long might you really be talking about? If nobody else chimes in soon....I'll see if I can scare up some

Jesse. That place looks great. But I'm going to let it all hang out here. I am not a fan of B&Bs. For whatever the reason, I prefer a little bit
more anonymity. Frankly, I don't care about the owners life stories all that much. When I'm looking to spend the night, I seek the best value. Not the
cheapest place, and in some cases it could be on the expensive side. It may be just us. But staying in a four room B&B isn't our gig. I have no
problem checking out in the morning and looking for the best breakfast place in town; not sitting with our hosts hoping I don't have to lie about the

I have stayed at the Angel Azul. It's quiet and centrally located, has a nice little lounge/bar and is in a beautifully restored old colonial
building. When I was there, full breakfast was served on the courtyard patio. It's only a couple of blocks up from the cathedral on Independencia.

I have a condo at Villas La Posada about a mile west of the malecon. I haven't started renting my unit but several of my neighbors do. You can find
several online at www.vrbo.com
Obviously I am partial to the place but it has been very popular because it is a smaller complex with only about 35 units. Besides your own kitchen
there is a barbeque grill under the palapa in the court yards and there is another barbeque on the roof of the 7 story tower available as well. In
July you will pretty much have the place most to yoursef as there are only a few fulltimers.

We appreciate every one. And by the way Bajahowood, I would prefer a B as opposed to a B&B myself.
We have looked at several and have also found some rentals available at VRBO.com. In fact one of the houses we looked at to buy is on VRBO.
We're only going to be there for a week this time-just gathering data for the move and meeting with the architect on the remodel.
Ana, if I went to any place besides Salon Karina for a pedicure (180$), I'd feel like I was cheating on my footfriend.
Also, Ive been trying to find a bus schedule from San Jose to La Paz and vice versa. Any hints?
BTW Cypress-one of the reasons we are moving to La Paz is for the sweat...year round unlike North Idaho.
