Clarion Island is a little out of panga range from Cabo! But, nice fish nonetheless.

Bruno.......You'll have to charter super panga.

msteve1014 - 6-11-2009 at 01:15 PM

Better make that the super-duper panga, with high speed everything.

Skipjack Joe - 6-11-2009 at 03:04 PM

That's a lot of sushi.

I got your super duper panga right here!

I have crossed paths with the Red Rooster and other long rangers many times on the tuna banks outside Mag Bay on the Soledad. I've never tried to make the run down to Socoro or Clarion, however. Here is a photo of the Qualifier 105 as I found her one day last December at daybreak on Thetis Bank. I was hoping to be the first one there, but she had spent the night on the hook. No yellowfin that day, but I did get a couple of hoos trolling around her.

Bill, you are a stud! When I grow up I want to be just like you!

Google Earth guesses about 400 nautical miles (one way) from Cabo to Clarion Island. Bill, I'm not sure even your beloved Soledad has the tankage to make that round trip!

Socorro Isl is much closer at 250 NM, but still out of range, unless you're loaded down with 55 gallon drums.

Fishbuck.......Be careful what you ask for....... Sounds like you are doing alright for yourself

And then where would I put the fish? Guess maybe I'll stay closer to home.
