Help! Dulce still needs a home

bajajudy - 6-16-2009 at 02:17 PM

Dulce passed the distemper tests but she has been found to have heartworms. The vets give a discount of 50% off the normal treatment of $300 but at this time I just dont have that much extra money.
If you are interested in helping her, please go to
http://www.humanesocietycabo.com/donate.html and make a donation.
Then send an email to DONATIONS@HumaneSocietyCabo.com and let them know your name and that your donation is for Dulce and the amount.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi Judy, I have tried numerous times to make a donation. They wont let me unless I use paypal. Any other way I can send money.k

bajajudy - 6-16-2009 at 02:47 PM

Thanks, Keri
If you click on "make a donation" it will take you to the choice of using paypal.
At the bottom of the left hand side there is:

Don't have a PayPal account?
Use your credit card or bank account (where available). Continue

Click on continue and it will take you to a credit card donation.
Does that work for you.

Nope, Did it all. But I did get in. I have a paypal acct that has not been used since 2006. I had to go in and redo email and passwords that took 4 times but I got in and sent Dulce a donation. Now if I can go though all that to give her a donation I hope that everyone else that reads this and the original thread about will help her out. Some one is going to have fantastic pet and a friend for life . Please help,k

Hi Judy, I also sent a donation for Dulce and further sent them an e-mail. Gosh it was so simple and fast. I hope Dulce gets well soon. Thank you for caring.

The cure can be fatal. But if you get the cure there's a pill or drop routine that is an effective preventive.

Stopped by the shelter to take Dulce some biscuits and vitamins. She has a boyfriend(a handsome yellow lab) and was more interested in getting back into the cage with him than visiting. This made me realize that she needs a home with another dog.

She looks terrific. Has put on some weight. They ran the blood work today and will know tomorrow or monday how bad she has the heart worms but they say that she is healthy and they anticipate her surviving the treatment.

I will keep all of you who contributed to her treatment informed.
Think good thoughts.

Bajajudy glad that this dog has you to help it! Thanks to the nomads for responding so quick! What a pretty dog!

Hey Everyone
You helped get her well. Now she needs a home. She is still in the shelter in San Lucas and healthy as can be.
Please ask around and see if you can find her a home.

Judy, you might want to try the Baja Onion again. I do know that the dog that was posted last week (Miel) was adopted out. Worth another try?? Good luck. She looks so sweet!

bajajudy - 8-20-2009 at 06:27 AM

Kate
She probably weighs about 50lbs. She is probably a little over a year old. She has been spayed and has all of her shots. She is rather timid and you are correct very sweet.
If anyone is interested in seeing her, she is at the Los Cabos Humane Society in San Lucas. I can give you directions. Or here is contact info at the center

Sorry about the incorrect information on her age.
She is now available on this site too.

As you can all tell, I will not give up until she has a home. It has been over a month since I was in San Lucas for a visit. She really looks great now. As I have said she is really sweet. I see that they have her leash trained now.
