All of the above is great advise, and he will be able to play with the Mexican kids even tho he doesn't speak Spanish the same for Spanish cartoons.

why not play DVDs...in Spanish!!!

We bought one of those 7" screen portable DVD players.
It plugs into the cigarrette lighter to recharge.
Go to K-Mart and buy some cheap DVDs of 100 cartoons for $5.00.
Also the "World" series or "Oceans" and the like for a little education.
It's been one of the best Baja investments we've made !

and they can have their own personal headset so you don't have to listen to it!

You can also get an Apple Itouch 32g. It can playback 40 2 hour movies. Wifi, email, internet, etc. Just saying :P

How much does it cost to get Dish or Direct TV? Initial costs to install? Monthly cost thereafter?

Thanks in Advance.

BCSTech - 6-19-2009 at 09:10 AM

DirecTV won't work in Mulege. They were down to one or two channels the last time I checked. You'll need to go with Dish Network if you want Satellite TV there.

Also, you'll need a qualifying address in the US to get the national PBS channel. Most of the local PBS channels carried by Dish are on spot beams that cannot be picked up in BCS.

Are these programs in Spanish? If you want everybody here to think and reply about Spanish language programming, maybe you should refer to the programs by their Spanish name or, at least, clarify your request.

Sorry, isn't PBS in English? Where in your post did you say you wanted TV in Spanish????

You may be able to get V-me, sort of a Spanish PBS channel, on Dish Network 9414. Much of their programming is U.S derived, dubbed into Spanish.

But if you just want TV in Spanish then get Sky. Far cheaper for the gear than Dish Network, and monthly rates are better.

In Mulegé you can receive local TV broadcast with just rabbit ears. All the bars and restaurants have cartoons for their help.
