as anyone who has seen true artisans at work knows, a 4 minute video can never truly capture the quality, beauty, value and SKILL of their work.
We have purchase items made by local/indigenous artisans in Mexico and we appreciate them EVERY day. We use the items, love them, and remember where
and when we purchased them.
We have given some of these type items away as gifts to family members, but I don't think they truly appreciate the items and what they are. I almost
want to get them back so the items can be appreciated and used with appreciation for the talent and skill that went into making them instead of having
the items sitting in a closet.
I have a secret dream of a very large blanket from the weavers in La Paz in a certain set of colors.....................

I contacted the tile company and they are still in business. We are going to go visit the factory and look at tile during our trip down next week.

JR Ceramics is a very cool place. We purchased some of our house tile there. It is a bit spendy but also very nice. The Baja Blue shown in the
video doesn't begin to do it justice - it is truly unique and beautiful. If you want the look and feel of handmade instead of factory made tile - I
highly recommend the trip.

OK,
We got our house tiles/saltillos through them. They DO have a good product, BUT be very careful with their cost estimates!!! They originally quoted
us at least 25% more tiles than we needed, their cost for installation was for sure gringo prices ($30 per sq meter) we got them down to $22 which is
still on the high end.
Working with the 2 brothers was VERY confusing, one said one thing and the other contradicted what the 1st one said.
Their product is nice in that its made from local materials, but the true saltillos from Saltillo are still nicer, for our rustic adobe they were
just fine.
The super saltillos from Cisco tile in Ensenada were about the same price!
The delivery of our 3000 tiles was a total fiasco! I mentioned to the owner that we were on the very steep observatory road, and that our laneway was
only passable with a 1 ton truck at most, so what do they send? A ancient cab over 18 wheeler that broke down near Meling! We had to make 20 trips at
35 kms each to get all the thinset and tiles into our site!
The stranded workers and driver got NO help from CeramicaJR! Needless to say we deducted a bit for that!
So bottom line, good product, but buyer beware!
