Tequila Dance Project

shari - 7-2-2009 at 07:37 PM

Whoa...I'm gonna go get a shot of tequila...great photos...sure looks like a real good time was had by all...the music must have been pretty good for the dance floor to be so packed...wish I'd a been there....cant wait to see the video...looks like a successful event.

Udo - 7-2-2009 at 09:20 PM

Shari,
The whole project was totally staged by the film crew. We have stayed @ La Fonda about 100+ times. This past weekend, had so many people there that the guests had no place to sit. I have no idea where all the people came from. I was meeting Kathleen and Vince Taormina (bajabound2005). Jana and I waited 10 minutes to sit down and left after 15 minutes waiting.
On a normal Sunday brunch there are a handful American couples (from La Mision, plus guests) and many Mexican couples, plus some police officers.
Let's see if this film brings down some more Americans.

I searched the photos for someone I knew...didnt recognize any nomads...dang...looked like they were having too much fun to be real:cool:

bajamigo - 7-2-2009 at 10:03 PM

Udo and Janna were there, but I think they were under a table.

There were a lot of folks from Punta Banda in the fotos. The drinks must have been free.

Let me put in one of these goofy faces so my neighbors will know I'm just kiddin'.

Hey- watch it junior! LOL

It does look like a luau party at a retirement home stuck on the bunny hop. But hey- that's a new untapped market and really a stroke of genius. Totally new market- the barely lucid. It is nice they bought them the free drinks- probably the best time these geezers have had since sunset dinner dance parties. Who was passing out the Depends samples?

... maybe the marketing geniuses will be able to shed some light on the target demographics on this...

And, all the dancers seem to be upright. Pretty good effort for those who have to hold up each other in the feeding line at the La Joya Salon.:lol::lol:

ManO Man......It's a good thing it's dark outside. Otherwise, I'd guess someone in those fotos might still be up to read this stuff and I'd be in deep dooodooo.

Looked like vibrant, energetic people having a good time - to me. And yes, there were plenty of people under 60...and so what if there weren't? Are you no longer a quality person capable of contributing to the world if you over 60?

Oh sure. I think so but, you may get a different opinion if you ask Bob Dillon.
"Don't trust anybody over thirty." He may or may not have said exactly that.

HOTDOGGERS.....Man, these guys are shakin' it. I'm not sure exactly what was being promoted but, it possibly could have been this:

Sadly, my initial post was accurate.

The retirees who live here...

How old do you think they be?

Don't think those in their 30's & 40's who can afford to retire would choose Baja.

DENNIS - 7-5-2009 at 10:20 AM

......................CLEAR...........................

KA-POP..................OK, she's breathing again and we have a feint pulse. Get her back on that dance floor before we run out of film.

I don't think many in that age group are thinking about a retirement home right now- they're just trying to make sure they can keep the main home they are lucky enough to have right now.

But senile seniors, tequila and Baja- why not? Retirement homes with happy hour!
