For the last couple of weeks I've been undergoing various landscaping projects with the help of Francisco, from Sonora. I've learned quite a few new
construction terms.
I've always been challenged by the name of a restaurant in Ensenada, Taco de Huitzilopochtli. I jokingly call it Hootsie Poodle Puddle. One day I
showed him the menu and asked him how to say it. His eyes got big and he
looked up to ask what it was. He could not pronounce it any better than I could.
My Spanish is very rudimentary (if I actually know the verb..I'm doing well...Conjugation?..not yet), his English almost non-existant, but it is very
heartwarming when you are able to make a joke and laugh. Shared laughter transends the language barrier.Germanicus - 6-20-2004 at 08:13 AM
Hey BajaCactus, more than happy to help you w/ the German language!
Guess we should do that via e-mail, or what do you think?
Other than there are more guys interested, this forum might be not the correct place for German anguage.
At the end it is still a BAJA forum, although I enjoy to "heat up some guys" with non topic (but toxid) issues.
So if you got any idea and are serious about leraning the German language, gimme a hallo, and we'll start.
your first sentence was faultless by the way.
Very good so far.
