Tucson Citizen

A two-day Tucson Citizen series, "Sea of Cortez: Disappearing underwater world" this week showed how shrimping, overfishing, pollution and other factors have endangered the Gulf of California.
At a conference on the gulf held in Tucson this week, participants agreed that it is not too late to save the sea - but it's going to take work and dedication.

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum was one of the conference sponsors, and during the event, museum officials floated an interesting idea.

The museum is considering adding a new exhibit hall dedicated to the Sea of Cortez.

That would be a major undertaking. But it would also keep the threats faced by this delicate sea in people's minds.

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum provides a great look at the desert world. Spent half a day there a while back and plans to return for a longer visit. They display the desert and all its inhabitants very well. A must see place it you're in the area.
