We had the perfect baja weekend...beginning with a little 4th of July gathering with some Nomads here...seeing as the guys only caught some calicos,
we make scallop ceviche.
Sunday we went to our favorite secret beach where Juan likes to take me to lunch...at high tide as he has to catch the croakers first, then grill it
for me.
We spent most of the day in the water as it has finally warmed up enough to enjoy. Then we returned to town so I could vote...for the 1st time here in
baja...and celebrated after at the beach with Bajaboy, girl and baby Gabriel...here is Gabriel drawing a crowd as usual.
the local kids also enjoyed the hot day and fun body surfing waves...signs of summer!
But the real thrill happened today on the way to Vizcaino...we saw 3 Berrendos (Peninsular Pronghorn antelope) on the road just before the turnoff to
Vizcaino!! this was the first time I had seen them in the wild roaming free...i was so excited and glad they didnt run away when we stopped to get a
foto...so those of you heading our way...keep your eyes peeled for those cute white bottoms in that area.
to top it all off, tonights sunset was spectacular so I went out to take a picture
and saw the moonrise when I turned around...here it is coming up beside the vigilancia lookout beside our place.
and some folks wonder why I live in Baja!!!Von - 7-6-2009 at 08:42 PM

Too cool Shari. Thanks for sharing. Loved the photos of a perfect day.
Congrats on your first vote as a citizen! And, to top it all off, the Pronghorns? I have only seen them from a distance at my mother-in-law's in New
Mexico. And then the sunset? Perfectamente, gente.Cypress - 7-7-2009 at 04:48 AM
