July 1, 2009 - Drove Guerrero Negro to San Felipe, 530 miles, 9 hours 15 minutes. We originally planned to drive through Puertocito on our way back
to San Felipe, but because of the flat tire in La Paz, we changed our mind and drove back through Ensenada. Had to stop for cow in the middle of the
road. Passed through police with radar just south of San Quentin, thank goodness they had somebody already pulled over. Remembered to gas up in San
Quentin. South of Ensenada went through 2.2 miles of road work. Stopped at Costco and Walmart to check tire prices. Decided we would get them in El
Centro when we are heading up there in a week. Happy to get home. Had a wonderful trip. Everyone should drive the Baja once.
Note - Driving Speed on straight stretches was whatever the speed limit sign said, but in miles per hour instead of kilometers per hour. Please do not
lecture, I was not the driver. Driving times and distances are based on our GPS and do not include times when we were stopped for gas, food or
Geocaching. If you don't know what this is, check out www.geocaching.com It is basically a high tech treasure hunt using your GPS. Brings you to great places you would never find otherwise and makes
for a fun, but longer, roadtrip.

julietravels, Thanks for the passing on the information. 530 miles in 9 hrs. and
15 minutes down in Baja is moving on at a pretty good clip.

Thanks for the speed trip report... Hope you found some Geocaches! I hid some of the first ones in Baja back in 2001... One is still active (I
think?), called Viva Baja #2.
Next time... Please stop and fill up at El Rosario to help support Baja Nomad member 'BajaCactus' and his business there.
It is 'Puertecitos' and 'San Quintin'... but you do get high marks for spelling Guerrero Negro correctly!!!
