No, next month, they are working on hotel details and finishes ... they plan to open this august.David K - 7-14-2009 at 08:33 AM
From the link: "...inauguradas y puestas en funcionamiento a finales de 2010."
but, at the top of the page: "Loreto, BCS.- Será en el próximo mes de agosto, cuando el consorcio turístico Villa Group este iniciando las operaciones
de su primer Hotel en este destino turístico, ..."camador - 7-14-2009 at 08:46 AM
Yes was my mistake, the Ensenada Blanca hotel will open next year, but Hotel Santa Fe which is in town will open next month.JESSE - 7-14-2009 at 09:29 AM
They have another Hotel Santa Fe in Cabo, its in town and thats where all their Time Share workers live.Bajahowodd - 7-14-2009 at 10:46 AM
That was the plan in Loreto, as well. It's right next to Domingo's and the Hacienda Suites. Frankly, when I saw it a couple of weeks ago, it didn't
look like it was ready for prime time.backninedan - 7-14-2009 at 10:47 AM
Another hotel? badly needed, they can split up the six tourists in town.Phil C - 7-14-2009 at 02:45 PM
They should buy an airplane and start regular service to LTO. Might put a dozen or so people in the hotel.CaboRon - 7-14-2009 at 03:10 PM

Hotel Sante Fe - Reality Check
bill erhardt - 7-15-2009 at 10:02 AM
Here is a photo of the Sante Fe as it is today, July 15, 2009. It is essentially a shell with none of the interior finish work yet started, bounded
by a chain link fence. I asked one of the construction workers this morning when the project would be completed. He after checking with a supervisor
told me some time in December. That is probably pretty optimistic. I asked the same question to a couple of EB sales reps in el centro and they at
first said the hotel would open in mid-August. When advised what the construction crew had told me they said that the existing contract called for
delivery in mid-August and that was when penalties for non-compliance would start to accrue.
When asked if it was the plan for the Villa Group to house sales staff at the hotel when it was completed, one of the sales reps nodded in the
affirmation and the other said that he hoped so and noted that was the way it was done in Cabo.
Assuming the intention is to rent rooms at the Sante Fe to the general public, the hotel is located on the western fringe of town further from the
malecon and el centro than any of the other existing Loreto hotels. With the occupancy rate of existing rooms at what is probably an all time low and
other hotels offering discounts of up to 50% It is unlikely that guests will be beating down the doors at the Sante Fe if/when it does open for
business.
So, Camador, it appears to be a bit early to start shilling for the Sante Fe.

With its very small windows it looks like a cross between a mission and a prison.
Can you imagine staying in a hotel populated by time share salesman?? Now there is a true hell on earth. The hallways would be like running a
gauntlet.Bajahowodd - 7-15-2009 at 11:50 AM
They advertise the one in Cabo to the general public. As with this one, it's considerably away from the water and has no views to speak of. The up
side is that it is much cheaper than their oceanfront properties. The down side is that even here, they will try and pitch the timeshare angle.
And it may not be a coincidence that this one in Loreto is right across the street from the bus station.

We stayed there a few weeks ago. They were running a special $56 plus tax. The place isn't quite finished but they were open for business. It was
pretty nice, will be really nice when finished. They are pet friendly but may not be in the future. I went to the check in counter with Cacahuate
under my arm when I asked about the room. The receptionist had to call someone to ask about the dog, she told the person on the other end of the line
that she was tiny and they said OK. The room was a kitchenette and very nice. I think we were the first people to stay in the room. The bed was tiny,
I'm guessing a double and about a foot too short for my 6'4" frame. The room was very "timeshareish" and had a door to an adjoining room. We were only
interested in going to dinner at Domingos and going to bed so the location was perfect for us. We liked it.
